Here again?

And just when I was settling in on that island. I don't see Fleur or Elizabeth. I suppose they haven't joined me.

Father, is it too much to hope that you're still around?

Aye, he's here, and you'll likely get a veritable earfull once he realizes you're back as well. Fair warning.

Please tell me you're his Jack.

And what happened to your hair? Did you somehow fall foul of a lawnmower? You look foxy.

Aye, I am. There was a mutiny. A hair mutiny.

I blame Anne, mostly, though Miniver and our Bill were both in on it as well. Still doesn't feel right, not heavy enough, like I'll fall over in a stiff wind.

So I keep hearing

A...a hair mutiny? I can't-

Don't toy with me, Jack. My stomach hurts from laughing so hard.

It oddly suits you.

Well it was. AND they let Miniver wield the scissors which I would have thought would turn out worse than it did.

Miniver is always an enigma. He's surprisingly adept at the oddest of things, and apparently hair cutting is one of them.

Glad to see you've recovered your ire and wit accordingly.

Well it isn't as if I keep those in my hair. That's more of an egg in a duck at the bottom of a well at the top of a hill on the far side of a forest sort of things.

Or perhaps a safe deposit box at a bus depot in the midwest.

I think it's a sign that I've known you far too long that I understood that.

Nonetheless, your hair does look nice, Jack. And it's good to see you. I actually missed your particular brand of crazy while I was gone.

Aye, it's either that or a sign that I've been around bill too long and have started osmosing his way of making things make sense no matter the problem.

Always good to know I've been missed, and it's good to have you back here as well, the one of you what's back home isn't anywhere near as interesting.

No, you definitely didn't make sense, Jack. I just understood you.

Really now? I'm sad to say there wasn't a you where I was. There wasn't much of anyone where I was while I wasn't here. It was an odd kind of existence.

Believe him when he says that my Will's a stick in the mud and an allaround wet blanket. I blame the fact that he never got to be a captain. And that eventually, Lizzy died.

Good God, am I really that bad? Or rather, is he?

I'm really glad I got to be a captain. Even if it was of the Flying Dutchman. But I do miss my Elizabeth. She's still not here.

Well, when he lived with my brother acting as me, I would assume he'd be nothing but honorable and heroic and all that dreck.

Now don't be so awfully upset by it, son, the fact that she still IS, ought to be enough to keep you going. Your love is true, and your woman is independent and strong. She'll be around one day, and what a day that will be. Hope, William, is the last thing you ought to let go of. Forsaking hope would only serve to make you just as dull as my Will was. Is. Oh, you know what I mean.

Yes, she was here more than once before, I can only hope that she shall be again. I love her deeply, Father. She is my life. Always has been from the moment she had me pulled from the sea.

You know as well as I that we Turners love deeply and that love burns brighter than anything else in our existence. It's a blessing, William. And that love will bring her back to you. It always does. Your Elizabeth feels that pull right now and she's aching for you, Will. Her heart is yours just as yours is hers. Have hope, son.

I can also stack up to 15 rounded-top saltshakers!

Sometimes being an overachiever is such a burden.

Call me if you need your hair played with ;D ;D ;D

That's a bloody great accomplishment, Miniver!

I like my hair just fine, thank you. It's on my head and it ties back easily.

I can do things with hair other than cut it, you know.

Really Miniver, I appreciate the offer. But I'm rather fond of my hair as is. No color necessary, no cut, no style.

If Elizabeth shows up, I'm sure she'd love someone to attend to her hair.

Seems that the Captain's got to you before I could.

Glad to see you've arrived in one piece. Still dead, I'm assuming?

Hello Father. I can't tell you how relieved I am to see you. Yet it still startles me every time seeing how alike we look.

Actually, I'm not 100% sure. I'll have to ask Death if I'm still one of hers. I was on an island for a long time and never ferried any souls anywhere, so I don't know.

Could ask God, or I could just meet with you and see for myself. Know our own and all that.

It truly is quite striking, even to me, how alike we are in face. And our friend the Raven is still here.

I tried to ask Didi, but apparently she is no longer here. Along with a few of my other friends. Many of them, actually. But I do feel as if that part of me is still there. The longer I'm here, the more I feel the call of the lost souls. Maybe you can confirm it for me over a pot of something this evening? Feel free to bring Jack if you like, or any of our other descendants.

Ah yes, Raven. I had forgotten about him. I've been told he's a father now, and is with a lovely fairy.

I'll be glad to share a nice pot of tea, son. Where can I find you? We've changed homes, if you go to the one in London, however, you're likely to find a young Turner of the Cassidy persuasion. We're now on Tortuga, again. You'll find us on the far end of the island from where the main stretch used to be, rather hard to miss us, seeing as how it's one of two houses.

So he has! I fear the day that child hits puberty.

I have a place in London that I never used to use because that's where I died. Then when I was with Fleur briefly, I used to stay at her place.

But right now I'm in Florida of all places. At my place in the Keys. I could sail over to you guys right now.

Oh dear. I hadn't even thought of that. I just read in Raven's post that his son is flying. That's quite amazing, I think.

You're close to Anne's then! Excellent, I'll likely be spending more time with my son, since I check in on Anne at least once a week. She'll probably come be motherly at you, though, fair warning. I'm sure you've met her, she's one of us, took care of me during MY childhood. I'm sure if your Me was anything like me at all, he'd already have told you stories.

So, should I be expecting you to drop by this afternoon? I'll have Jack be at least partially presentable.

I remember Captain Bonney. She was captivating and charming whilst being simultaneously intimidating.

I shall be by this afternoon! And as for Jack, I'm not even sure if only partially presentable is at all presentable for him.

She's quite a dear, if you pretend to be helpless.

Oh, I meant presentable by my standards, not by his. If we went by his standards, I doubt you'd even get a loincloth out of the deal. Though I am quite sure you don't entirely have an issue with that, it's just the proper thing to do when company's about.

Loin cloths come later, when company's drunk and we're all bored.
