So far I like the new universe, except that I replaced a waiter. Thought I was done with this after college.

I am, however, the only waiter with a certified Grimoire though, so that's a plus. Good for winning bar bets.

Better that and a woman named Klamidyah, I'm sure humanity is bat-shit nuts. Maison? Isn't too bad and you're out of the picking-fights-on-the-school-yard-for-nicknames age.

That's awesome, though I'd figure fire and books would be daunting. Keep-from-water-and-extinguishers fire sprite?

Yeah, but Maison wasn't a cool enough name when I was in high school. Never did get around to changing it though, clearly.

Naah, just have to be a little more careful with some of the solvents and stuff, and only have to stay away from water and extinguishers if I'm actually on fire, other than that I take showers like a normal person, I just have a higher core body temperature.

It's the parent's job to make the brood's life miserable through their names. 'KK' works wonders and so does a left hook.

Would make spot welding against the fire walls a little easier... Or warming up frozen burritos.

Something like that must be in the parent manual. Which I kind of want a copy of, but I don't want to have to become a parent to get it.

It takes a lot of energy to burn hot enough to weld metal, and it's not so good for cooking with unless you like things charred on the outside and frozen in the middle. I've run tests.

Hey, the kid has to go into therapy sooner or later, make it interesting for the shrink!

*snickers* Well, after eight years of rabbit food and healthy stuff, and my cooking abilities, I doubt I'd notice the difference. I am one of the 'bake at 325 for 40 is the same as 650 for 20, right?" kind of chefs.

Yeah, that's how I used to cook too, then I took a class and now I'm actually kind of good at it. Won't claim to be a master chef or anything, but I'm usually the one who makes dinner when we're all having a sit down.

I'm happily killing myself with frozen foods and over-salted processed gunk. It's been years and groady-cravings are hard to resist. I cook soup and coffee off the carburetor when the boss nags, though.

Whatcha good at?

Well I don't bake at all, I mostly make breakfasts, eggs and bacon and stuff like that, make a mean basil and mozerella omlette.

Mean, huh? Does that sound good. Breakfast is always a bonus to the whole waking up nonsense.

We tend to eat breakfast whenever at the Library, happens when we're out on night missions most of the time.

Hopefully many end-of-mission victory omlettes, then. You do more than reconstruct books?

Yep. That's my official job within the Library, the Librarians are sort of a buffer between humans and the ... Other Things, werewolves, vampires, demons, et cetera. We keep the peace.

Wow. Peacekeeper of things that go bump in the night to a waiter that scares thugs.
Anti-freaking climatic is the least of it.

Exactly. Been trying to think of a word that means more than anticlimactic, but I'm not coming up with anything except 'depressing' and I'm not really a depressive person.

If I say you're too 'fiery' or 'high-spirited' for that, my lucky goggles might get melted to the garage floor, huh?

Ugh, wielding with no eye-shield is always a treat.

Right, so no comments about being hot under the collar or having a short fuse either, even though they don't seem to describe you at all. :D

From what I've seen, over-reacting people are covering up for some other glaring flaw. Talking with unruffleables is less like walking through a shifting minefield.

I'm not going to claim I'm perfect, but I don't try and cover my flaws anyway, no fun doing that.

Librarians are a pretty level bunch though, kind of have to be.

Our flaws make us endearing, or that's what all those stupid chick flicks tell us. Mindless drones are a) boring and b) creepy.

With the world being threatened practically weekly? Gotta be.

Hell, we'd be lucky if it was only weekly.

More like D, go after maniac making them drones and take him out.

That works too. Usually that's plan A, and plan B is 'twice as much firepower as plan A'.

Simple, easy to remember, yet versatile to many situations. I like it.
