So far I like the new universe, except that I replaced a waiter. Thought I was done with this after college.

I am, however, the only waiter with a certified Grimoire though, so that's a plus. Good for winning bar bets.

Bleh, waitering. That's what I do in the off-season, only with more waitresses because I'm a girl.

Yeah, I mean, it's a job, and I'm qualified for it, still looking for something that's more up to my speed though.

I'm Maison.

Yeah, I just do it between competitions because I hate being one of Those Girls that lives off of Daddy's money.

I'm Lilo.

So you're one of the real independent women, not one of the ones who says they are but whines to daddy when anything puts a dent in it. Nice.
What is it you compete at? Or should I guess?

I have pretty low cost of living, considering I still live with said Daddy and my Mom and my baby brother and my dog-alien-humanperson.

You can guess if you want!

I could probably do that too, but only at a steakhouse or something.

Nothin' wrong with that, not enough good steakhouse chefs where I'm from.

I don't think it's my whole reality so much as it's just my town. DC isn't known for its steakhouses.

Boo to seats of government!

So, instead of the noble profession of waitering, what should you be doing?

Thinking of another term for anti-climatic, but the only thing coming up is 'just plain sucks.'

On the other hand, must make certain to tip you very well, or will wake up a newt.

That's only if I don't let on that I don't actually know how to work the Grimoire.

Really it's just my unofficial job to make sure that nobody harrasses the waitresses. I actually made a couple ghetto-blaster thug-types apologize to Dinky earlier, that was pretty fun.

Ohh playing the air-head as an alibi for when the mischief happens.. Clever.

Dinky? She must be a tiny hard-hitting blond with a brogue thicker than bricks.

Yeah, it can be, I'm not really that good at it though, I actually don't know how to work the grimoire, not without exploding myself or something. I just repair them, I don't use them.

Got the blonde part right, though it comes out of a bottle, and she's a recovering Texan, so more of a drawl than a brogue, but she's 5'2" and about as mousy as they come.

Aww, day hasn't started for me if something hasn't started leaking the magic blue smoke or steam...

Damn, thought 'Dinky' was for a girl the way 'Tiny' is for the six foot rugby playing marine. Should teach her to trash talk...

Yeah, that's about how it is at the Library too.

I figure it is if it's a nickname, but Dinky's actually what's on her birth certificate.

I so wanna bamf on over to this Library, but I don't know if cellulose-based materials and condensation-vaporization thermodynamics mix so well...

...She had some evil parents or a severely jipped mother. Not that I have a leg to stand on with names...

Don't know if there even IS a Library here, I've been looking, but I don't have the same clearance I did back home, or they just don't exist, hard to say.

What's worse? Dinky is her middle name. Her first name's Rinky.

I know, sorry. I haven't found anyone or anything from my dimension/verse/whatever either. But the place just sounds boss and geek-gasmic.

I'll keep looking, there's got to be something like it at least.

Rinky Dinky Hinkley. She's pretty sure her parents were drunk when they decided on the name.

No kidding. She must have learned to fight a young age.

See, at some age you can change your name. This is a prime example of why that is available. What do Yanks smoke while preggers?!

And you are a saint for keeping an eye out for her.

I have no idea. But then again I'm a sprite, so, not the same gestation process as most people. And she knows she can change it, it's just she hasn't thought of anything better with the initials R. D., since that's like a family thing, her mother was Ruthy Dianne and her grandmother was Rhonda Delanor and so on.
