So far I like the new universe, except that I replaced a waiter. Thought I was done with this after college.

I am, however, the only waiter with a certified Grimoire though, so that's a plus. Good for winning bar bets.

Simple, easy to remember, yet versatile to many situations. I like it.

So far it's never let us down. Don't know what other Branches' plan B is, but so far as I know we're the only Branch that uses that one.

Plan A is drop a full canteen from two stories up on the daft bird's head. It works.

Doubt they stray much from that type of thinking.

Considering that we all get the same kind of training? I wouldn't doubt it. Pretty sure the Chicago branch uses 'napalm' in place of 'dynamite' though.

Napalm and dynamite.... Sooo... big tips for the very nice waiter, right?

Exactly.

Naah, I'm not to worried about the tips, wage is pretty good by itself. Got to see if I can find something else though.

Heh. Yeah, hate to say it but waitering would make you go something something.

If anything in the way of mechanic or engineer tickles, I can loan you my tools and shop space. There's enough weird projects kicking 'round.

Yeah, I tend to leave that kind of thing to people who know what they're doing. I know book repair, I'd totally botch engine repair.

Know? What we're doing?

*laughing*

Lord, do we have you fooled. In the words of the Man: Am I missing an eyebrow?!

Haha! Fair enough, at least you know what most of the parts are called, right? And what parts stick to what other parts?

The thingy, the sonnabitch and the dipstick.

If it's moving and shouldn't, use duct tape. If it should, WD40. Only never tell that to the customers.

So apparently it really isn't that different than book repair, only there we've got 'the board things', 'the stringy stuff' and 'that sticky stuff'

Hell at 4:45am, probably it's all whatthehells, and I'll try to mount the coffeemaker's guts into the belt drive.

I've actually learned not to do book repair anytime after 3am. Unless of course I've been unconscious the whole previous day.

Ahh, I can go seven a few days without sleep. But things take shape that I don't remember what or why I did it. Then it's 'press the button and run' time.

Yep, been there. Had a book once that was just for a project, nothing too important, but I mis-measured the pages no less than three times, so it looked like they were trying to escape from the cover in a couple places. Somehow I convinced the professor I'd done it on purpose, that it was an art piece.

I wish that answer worked.

"WHY IS MY GREMLIN PERCOLATING PETROL?!"

"It's art."

My projects, yeah, we are still at the does-it-work stage, aesthetics are a pipe dream.

Well in that case you just have to pass it off as a defense mechanism, which is something that doesn't work so well for book repair.

Well, unless it's a particularly nasty grimoire or something that needs the defense to make sure people don't open it.

Think there was a wizard movie about that. The creature book was like a freaking piranha or terrier until you stroked it's spine. Then it mellowed out.

The Monster Book of Monsters. There are a few books that are actually like that, old old magic.
