Dogs ain't so bad, I've been getting squirrel-insulted all day. Squirrels are ... mean. Really didn't expect that.

I might go to th' park later, see what London squirrels are like. Might be that they're different.

Might be, ones up Oregon way around the Goose Lake campground seem to be pretty pissy.

Th' pigeon outside th' window says they're right obnoxious. I don't know if I can believe a pigeon, though.

Well, they did used to be entrusted with messages, carrier pigeons and all. Don't know if that was a smarter breed or anything however.

Good point - Master Heathcliff had a carrier pigeon up at th' Heights, after all... I don't think this one's clever, though, keeps almost walkin' into the window.

Must've been a different breed in the old days. Didn't all the carrier pigeons go extinct or something?

If they did, they weren't extinct in my time.

Had to go look it up, passenger pigeons went extinct in 1914, carrier pigeons and homing pigeons are the same thing, they're trained birds that carry messages.

Be careful with mice... they are particularly touchy. They do not take mention of cats well at all.

T' be honest, Miss Alice, it's easy t' understand why.

Well, yes. But they don't have to be so mean about it. Of course, I haven't talked to mice in many years. It's very possible they've gotten some manners.

I should be kinder. The mice here are huge!

I'll see if I can find some for ye and have a chat, just t' check.

Are ye sure ye haven't just... shrunk? Th' world's goin' crazy, after all.

I considered that, but at Christmas time, Santa Claus promised me I'd stay the same size all year.

So logically, the world must have grown up around me. Why my chair is now as tall as my head!

Oh, my... if the mice are this big, people must be very large indeed.

It's all very peculiar. I am interested in what the mice have to say to you, though.

I don't think Santa saw this whole thing comin'. Nice guy, though - he's the one who gave me th' dog.

Is there anythin' I can do to make things easier for ye? After I've nipped out and had a chat with the mice, that is.

Oh, I do hope that's not it. I get so very confused when I'm changing sizes, and it's been so long I'm not sure I remember how.

And thank you, Mr. Earnshaw, but no - I'm quite fine. You are always so kind! I shall just wait for the world to go back to its normal size, I think.
