Okay people, this is one of those hypothetical situation kind of things.

Say you're walking down the street in a pretty busy city, like London or Los Angeles or something, and you're walking along, minding your own business, maybe you're late for work, maybe you're going to the store or to a friend's house or even to the subway, I don't know, not important. You're going along about your day, doing what you do, and you see a guy with wings coming the other way, just minding his own business, walking along.

What do you do? How do you react?

Whatever you do, don't pluck a feather. It hurts like a bitch, and he's well within his rights to hit you back. It wasn't me, was it?

No, I haven't seen one, but I'm just kind of trying to prove to a friend of mine that it's normal around here.

I'll let him know about the feather-pulling thing though.

I've seen a lot of weird shit at this point, so I might bug him with questions like if he was born with them. But I wouldn't be freaking out or anything.

Thank you. So, basically it's not unusual enough that you'd be all: 'omg call the cops!', right?

No way. What, are his wings made of nukes or something? Why would you call the cops?

No nukes, just feathers. You know, theoretically.

Yeah, that just doesn't sound that threatening. Oh no, scary feather man. He's going to flap me to death. The Incredible Fan! Watch as he creates vengeful drafts of air.

Not calling-the-cops worthy even if it's like... I don't know, say a fourteen or fifteen foot wingspan? On an otherwise pretty normal-looking guy.

Well he'd kind of have to have a 14-15 foot wingspan just to get off the ground, don't you think? I mean, physics and all. So no. But I dislike calling the cops for any reason, so I'm a little biased.

On the ground that guy doesn't sound like he'd be a big deal, even if, say, he were belligerently drunk and threatening fisticuffs. I mean, with those huge wings he'd be pretty bulky and awkward fighting on the ground. The only thing I'd be remotely concerned about is if he were strong enough to pick me up and drop me from really high up. But even then if you saw it coming you could probably just walk inside a store and he wouldn't even be able to get in the door, unless those flappers fold up really small.

You're being sensible about this, I appreciate that.

So, basically if he was minding his own business and not bothering anybody and-slash-or making threats you'd notice but it wouldn't be a big deal, right?

It's just how I think.

Pretty much. I'd be curious, but as long as he's doing his daily wingman stuff there's no reason to be a dick and flip out.

Nothing, which is exactly what I'm trying to prove to a friend of mine.

I see.

Tell your friend to insert "blue eyes" for "wings"... It's all the same. But then, a good portion of my kids have wings. I might be biased.

Really? That's kind of cool. I guess where he's from it's really really weird to have wings. Not blue eyes though, he's got blue eyes.

I'd punch out the guy next to him with five eyes and seven arms.
So neener.

I don't now, isn't this the part when the Villain goes on and on and on about what they would've done if it weren't for those meddling kids or whatever?

Bah, I'm not Scooby Doo villain material. I'd be more up the ladder of Snidely Whiplash et al.

How are you feeling? Oh hey, I found pictures of us when we're bigger, so um. You know. You're in the clear, you'll make it through this.

Okay, gotcha, melodrama instead of ... disgruntled postal carrier.

I'm okay, still a little wobbly sometimes, but I don't need the painkillers any more. Holding onto the anti-anxiety stuff for a little longer though, since I kind of had a panic attack earlier.

Yes, moustache twirling instead of funhouses.

Yeah, we're both freaking out still over here. Me more than him, but that's just because it's a SCARY NEW PLACE and you know how I get when I'm unfamiliar with my surroundings.

And that's because you can actually grow a mustache now.

So... go to a museum or something, I bet that big famous one has all the stuff Jack and Bill taught us about, could pretend it was home.

Not actually very well yet. I'm working on it though. I don't know why my chin hair came in first. Weird.

I think I'm just going to stay here under the blankets and pretend I'm home in bed until this all blows over.
