Well that was ... interesting.

Would someone, anyone really, mind telling me what just happened and where I am? Because I'm fairly certain that this isn't Winterrock, or anywhere on Saint Albans for that matter.

I'm used to not knowing where I'm going, but not knowing where I am is new.

I'm sure you'll find that yourself growing used to things here, regardless of if you want to or not.

You think so?

Shouldn't question, really, folk do get used to things easily enough, just how folk are.

I know so - I was once in your situation myself.

I'm beginning to believe that everyone here was, once.

My name's Book, they call me a Shepherd, though I'm still learning that part.

I think that many of us are. Certainly everyone you'll find responding to you via the internet forums.

I'm Sadako Yamamura. Shepherd? What comprises your flock?

It's interesting, and there's no rhyme or reason for it that anyone's yet discovered?

And my flock is whoever needs the guidance, counsel or protection that I can provide.

Not as of yet. We're all as puzzled as you.

Ah. I'm sure you'll find many to bolster your numbers.

You think so? I ... didn't come looking for a flock, I wonder if finding one on Earth-that-was still counts towards my Mission.

I don't know much about religion, as I tend to not be religious, but it is my understanding that there are those that will need comfort in any time, at any place.

Of course, I could be wrong. I'm certainly not one you'll want to speak to regarding comfort.

Well that's true enough, and there's always folk who'll need protecting, which is its own kind of comfort I suppose.

And you don't accept comfort yourself? Or no one's but your own?

The weak must always have their champion.

I'm told my comforts are odd, and not in keeping with the majority. And I've my own shepherd already.

As long as you've got some don't suppose it much matters how odd they are. People with no comfort whatsoever? Not something I care to think on.

That's a hefty compliment.

Do you know almost all the world? I'd rather like to know what your basis of comparison is.

Well, yes. I did kill them all once. Well. All of them in 1991, where I'm from. But we're not there, as you can see.

Interesting. Don't know that many folk would admit to a thing like that, even if they did it.

Not that I doubt you, no reason to doubt a claim like that.

Why hide it?

I understand your sarcasm - I'm sure it sounds strange to someone who just arrived.

I didn't intend any sarcasm miss Yamamura, just stating fact, folk I know don't admit to that sort of thing.

Not saying it doesn't sound strange, it does, but it's good to know you're comfortable enough with it to say so.
