Good News! As some of you know, I was in the running to get an internship with my company's internal audit department this summer. I got it!

Bad News! I have two weeks to train my temporary replacement, so my work schedule will continue to be crazy. I also have no idea how many hours I'll be putting in with IA and there will be traveling involved, so I might not be on much even after two weeks from now.

OK, time to get things on the move with the rings! So to get this happening, two characters from Stargate Atlantis are being called upon, none other than the brilliant Dr Rodney McKay, and Colonel John Sheppard. They're coming in from after S05E06, The Shrine, which is rather a great episode, and one that is probably the best at showing the relationships in the team.

Soooo, put your thinking caps on, cuz soon the gates/rings will be operational in some form or another - they will be able to be dialed to specific places, or will dial up random locations! Rodney will of course be tearing out what little hair he has left, as the randomness of the results will frustrate him no end *whispers* blue jello and Dr Jennifer Keller are known to have a calming affect on him! */whispers*

Howdy-do! Caitlin here with babe two. This lil' gal is Rarity, who I am bringing over from a previous plot in another game that I have since left.

Rarity is one of the Mane Six from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the new version of the series. She is quite the drama queen, exceedingly generous and helpful, and quite human as the game would have it! No longer a pony, or even technically a human due to events while on the island, Rarity is a happily married young woman! Her mate will be here eventually, such I think is the plan, but until then you may expect both tears of great sorrow over losing him and joy at seeing several of her friends from said previous game.

My plan is, after Rarity gets her barrings, to open up her fashion boutique. Rarity specializes in fashions and can be a true wizard about creating clothing and perfect ensembles. If you don't know the show, Rarity has her own shoppe known as The Carousel Boutique, in which she lives and works as a fashion designer ever striving to be noticed by the big names in fashion!

She's a dainty little thing that hates being dirty or disorganized, but she can also throw all of that away for the sake of her friends just as well! <3

Just a quick headsup, I'm on the road in a few hours, heading down to a bit of a regatta that goes for 8 days, working as a volunteer while daughter races. (He's out in one of the caves in the weyr, where Banshee and Seze can smell there's another Na'vi kinda thing, and Neytiri and Jake will find him) Juliet can be just about anywhere if someone wants to scene, John is in Calderville, as is Cass.

Seems IJ has had a postal strike again - notifs are seeming jammed up again, am just getting some through now, so if you are involved in threads, take a quick look to see if a tag is awaiting you! The notifs will hopefully get back to normal once the purge of accounts is completed, if not before.

Hi, everyone! I'm sorry about my sudden disappearance these last few days! I did not mean to go away for so long! NC had a huge power outage due to a really nasty ice storm that knocked down many, many trees and what feels like just as many power lines. Being one of the estimated 100,000 people to lose power in my area, I was forced to retreat about two hours away to my mom's house, where her power was out for one night but was returned. The internet, however, remained spotty over the course of the power fixing and I was having a difficult time getting signal even on my phone. I finally found a corner in my mom's house I could steal open wifi from the (stupid, not-passwording his router system) neighbor and got on last night for about an hour.

That all said, my work is also about two weeks behind thanks to nearly a week of no power and before that waiting on materials to ship. I will be working several extra hours in the meantime to try and catch up my work and get it all back on schedule, though I have warned my clients to prepare for at least a two week delay in my starting on their costumes. Hopefully, that won't actually happen.

General stuff: Thank you to Cathy and Tracy for kindly waiting for me in the thread. I'm sorry I made you wait at all and it's sweet of you to have considered me! Please don't worry about me joining in with Soi on whatever that other group thread was. I'm just not sure at this time I'll be able to reply in a timely fashion with everyone else.

To Cathy & Aimee, I don't know if ya'll wanna continue the first thread we were working on with Juliet, Soi, Howl, and John. If so, I think it's Juliet's turn? I was the last to tag, if I remember. If we don't want to keep going don't worry about it. Just thought I'd throw out a reminder while I was here.

... the other Sully brother! From AU! *coughs*yes, yes, I know, I'm an addict and here's another pup!*coughs*

In this Sully's universe there was no death the day before heading to Pandora, so instead of Jake, Grace Augustine had Tom Sully, PhD, in her team. Therefore Quaritch didn't approach him to undermine the program, and Tommy had his avatar, and spent quite a few months learning all about the ecosystems and more while there.

While looking identical, Tommy and Jake are definitely different. While Jake has all the 'street smarts' that enabled him to survive Venezuala, Tommy would have difficulty surviving the streets (well he didn't survive them, did he?!) without his brother when they were growing up, or Norm Spellman, or another buddy to watch out for him. He's easily sidetracked by biology, and all things that make it up, and while he had a PhD in xenobiology before he was 19, and has spent 3 years preparing for the Pandora project after being selected, he has zero skills when it comes to women, and very little experience! Drive an avatar, figure out the interconnectivity of a distant moon's fauna and flora and native species, piece of cake! Pick up and talk to a woman? Uhhhhh, Jake? Norm? Help?! Though he'd probably be able to tell her about her pheromones and cycle, and the part of it she is in after asking her rather personal and 'non-we've-just-met-5-minutes-ago' types of questions!

SO... in other words, heeeeeeere's Tommy!

Some silliness and confusion is about to take place in the town square in Calderville. There is a thread already started that is Alex and Nikita meeting blue!Jake and Neytiri and the ikran for the first time (they thinks they're just going to see aerial photos) . Meanwhile up at Crossroads Juliet is going to meet original!Jake who has just arrived! And of course they're going to go to Calderville, via the ring, to the town square...

Anyone wanting to join in comment here so we can co-ordinate and then have some fun!

Hi there! Aimee again, this time with a Doctor Who character: Martha Jones. Martha comes from after "Journey's End," for those of you who know the series. For anyone who's never checked it out, Martha's the 10th Doctor's second companion. She's intelligent, brave and likes to hide her feelings, which can sometimes lead to her coming off as acidic or sulky, although she's gotten better at that. She's a soldier and a doctor, so she should at least be useful.

Feel free to hit her up for plot! She'll hop in and make herself useful no matter what, anyway, so I'm sure she'll run into someone eventually.

So, yes, hello. This is Tracy and I've picked up another Jake. This time, he's coming from the start of Avatar. If you haven't seen the extended version, there's a 4-minute clip of Jake on Earth, which shows his crappy apartment, the bar he spends a lot of time in, the fight he picks with some guy who slaps his girlfriend and then him getting thrown out into the back alley by the bouncers before the RDA suits pick him up and tell him about Tommy. That's this Jake. He's just been thrown out of the bar. He knows nothing about Pandora, the Na'vi are those weird blue space cat people that Tommy's interested in and he's still in his wheelchair. Good times.

Hi there! I'm Aimee and I'm new! I'm bringing you Howl Pendragon from the book (not the Studio Ghibli film) Howl's Moving Castle.

If you've only seen the film, Howl won't be utterly unfamiliar to you. He's snarkier, and there are definitely some changed details from the film. The bottom line is that the film version is much nicer than this one (Diana Wynne Jones said this herself about both Howl and Sophie in the movie).

If you're not familiar with the film, it's a pretty fun fantasy. Howl is a wizard who's rumored to eat the hearts of young girls, and the protagonist ends up his cleaning lady while trying to figure out how to get him (or his fire demon Calcifer) to break a spell that added about 60 years to her life. Howl is moody, mysterious, sneaky, and lazy, but not actually a bad person. I've got links in the profile if you want to check out what Wikipedia has to say about him, and of course my write up of his personality.

Hi, ya'll! I'm Caitlin and I bring with me a new face for you all to torment with your joy and kindness~

Some of you know me, maybe (haha), but for those that don't: I'm 24, I've been role playing literately for about ten years now--but lets be honest, I've been role playing since I was two playing house! I work from home as a costume designer/cosplay commissioner, and as such I can sometimes disappear when I get sucked into a piece. I play World of Warcraft like it is my second job and I will talk about it all day if you let me! I am the secretary of our local Sigma Sigma Sigma (∑∑∑) Sorority Alumnae chapter, so I go out sometimes for social events, meetings, fund raising/philanthropy, etc. I graduated from college with a BA in Technical Theatre and I'm hoping to go back to school in a few years for a Masters in Costume Design.

As for my lady here, this Soi Fon from the anime/manga series "Bleach." I've taken her from a game that I started and played in for a while, which was an AU setting for the series, that takes place in an another world equivalent of Japan in a steam-punk meets Feudal Japan theme. Shaolin (Soi) Fon is a member of one of the wealthy families of the country and struggles with her daily heiress tasks and juggling secretly being the captain of a stealth division for the military. She's twenty-six and stubborn as all get out!

Hi! Just a quick headsup that the date is about to change again - yes, still leaving it a few days before we roll it, hoping people's busy schedules will allow them a few minutes to get something up in a 'day'.

With the cleanup underway (there are a couple of threads happening that people are welcome to jump in on, Neytiri and Juliet in Acoste, and Kennex, Derek and Connor in Calderville) it would be a good time to have people who are being dropped perhaps be found?

Also, the rings will be being checked over very very soon! A couple of folks who are rather familiar with them, and in fact won't be at all surprised to see them are arriving. They will be surprised to see three of them in the same place, and possibly confused as to how the middle ring even works, as it's different to the other two (think of it as the 'local transit system' Rodney, that might help).

So, when these two outer rings become functional they will be opening to either a random place, or if you have somewhere in particular in mind you would like to have the ring go to, then let us know! The rings will only be open to a place for a short amount of time but will remain open for that time. When you are deciding where you want it to go, please make sure you provide the following information:

City/Place:
Specific location for the ring to transport to:
Time:
Culture:
Types of commodities that could be procured:
Any special events happening at that time/location:

Remember, until people get to the farming area (Glen Haven) there is still only fruit that is 'fresh food', all other food is drygoods and it's in the cupboards/shops/etc. To get milk, or meat, or eggs folks will have to start making their way to the farming area, where there are sheep, cattle, chickens, etc. So get those roads up to Crossroads cleared, and perhaps some of the folks who are looking for something to do might want to think about heading there? :)

You guys, my laptop is dead. RIP my laptop 2011-2014. I will be extremely scarce until I figure something out. I have an ipad and my phone but it's not the same. I'll be especially slow on scene tags. Sorry! Will give an update when this changes.

The Eye would take approximately 20 minutes to pass over the island, the other side of the storm would be just as severe as the first, and take approximately an hour to cross the island. Will be posting pics of the devestation at various points that people will find when coming out after it has passed completely.
