"Lady Patience?" Lord Chadwick smiled, bowing low to her. "I saw that you were still greeting guests and wondered if I could not bring you some refreshment?" He said. He knew the girl, if only through his friendship with her father, and she was only a few years older than his oldest son. Of course, Hursty was hoping to marry her off now and Isaac was certainly not old enough to marry, and Thaddeus wouldn't force any of his children to wed. It caused too much pain.

"Lord Chadwick," Patience said with a smile, rather hopeful she might be privy to a little gossip about the man's awful wife. She knew she shouldn't be so terrible, especially not to one of her father's oldest friends, but it was just such an interesting affair. "That's too kind of you, my Lord. Yes, a small glass of the punch would be delightful. Tell me, how are your children? Crispin asks after Issac often. You should bring him round one afternoon and they can play together, and I would love to see Oscar and Bianca."

He bowed his head again, bringing her the requested glass, and another for himself. "I have been looking for your father all over, Patience, I don't suppose you know where he is?" He said to her, as if the thought had just struck him to ask her.

"The children? Ah, they are going very well. They have a new tutor who has been distracting them with geography and history." He smiles, "And French. Bianca insists on speaking nothing else at dinner, I am afraid it quite upset the staff." He smiled, "But we shall have to visit. Or while you are in London you should come and see us. Oscar is going to start his lessons soon, but for the moment his favourite thing is stories. I am sure you could tell him better ones then I can manage."

"No, I'm afraid not. He was here a moment ago but I think he was rather distracted by our guest of honour who seems to have disappeared somewhere too." Patience said with a small shrug.

"Bianca is so adorable. I do hope when she's old enough you'll let me take her shopping for her first ball gown. My mother went with me, but since your lady wife is gone and you have no sisters I might be permitted to help? Oscar is such a dear little boy, I'm quite sure I would love to come and help read him stories." She paused to take a breath and then continued. "Where did you find such a wonderful tutor? Crispin is in dire need of a new one. His old tutor left quite suddenly. Maybe he could come and study with your children for a little while?"
