A Visit To A Client
Subject: A Visit To A Client
Where: The London Streets and Lord Mountford-Miles' city residence
Who: Harry Fisher
Open to: Lord Eward, whoever else Harry might meet and converse with on the way

Harry enjoyed mornings. True, he had been delayed at Marguerite York's home for several hours and had missed the early morning rush of tradesmen, market-stall owners, cart-drivers, pickpockets and burglars heading home, but the streets were still busy enough. One or two even gave him a nod as he walked past, and he returned it, placing each of those who greeted him in the social map in his head. Fred Jenkins, gambler; Robert Ewing, debtor; Sarah Bristol, two-penny girl...
And then he filed it all away and walked on, hands in his pockets, enjoying this walk through the cobbled and dirt-track streets. It wasn't more than twenty minutes walk, once he'd crossed one of the Ramsgate Bridge, and with his thoughts on the prospects of another job, and the pretty young widow he had danced with the night before. Lyttelton, that was her name. Pretty thing. He'd have to arrange to bump into her again at some point. And there he was, at the door of Eward's house. He lifted his hand to knock, and then had second thoughts. Why bother the staff from tending their master's delicate head? He could let himself in. And he did, moving through the garden of the house, finding himself an open window that led into the scullery, climbing through, and then calmly walking through the kitchens and servant's quarters tell he found himself in a rich, over-decorated hallway.

"Eward!" He called, "You drunk, where are you?"

Harry bowed his head in greeting, she was, after all, his friends sister, and a wealthy woman in her own right. What he actually thought of her didn't come into it. "Miss Edith, good morning." He says, a smirk pulling at his lips. "I didn't see you at the Ambassador's Ball. You were otherwise engaged?"

The whole family were as bad as each other, really. Although that was Ewards fault, of course, he should be setting an example. "I've come to drag your brother from his bed. You don't have any objections, do you?"

I was wondering if you'd heard/read about Harry and the Mountford-Miles family? Did Eward's player tell you our plot plan?

Edith took another long sip from her glass before nodding. "Yes, I had important business to tend to," she admitted. Of course, there was only one thing that Edith would abandon a ball for and the answer of what that would be was obvious in the strong scent of men's cologne that lingered on her skin.

"Drag him wherever you wish," she said simply. "So long as he doesn't return in the company of another whore." There was a hint of jealousy in her dark eyes at the mention of her brother being with other woman.

I only read what was posted in the comments to Eward's first ooc post.

"Of course." Harry smiles, aware of exactly where she'd been, and who she'd been with. He wasn't paid to keep his eye on this happy little family for nothing. "Although many people missed your presence last night. Eward most of all. He needs someone to keep him in check, and you know how he ignores me." He shrugs, although there is a faint smile on his lips. "It was an enjoyable evening for you, at least?"

"Miss Edith! Would I allow your brother to do such a think?" Harry says, shocked and protesting. "You brother was not with a whore. I am sorry you were given that impression. He was, in fact, with an actress."

On the OOC community? Ah, so you know about them being half-brothers, and not knowing it yet? Parfait!

"Oh, yes," Edith said with a nod of her head. "It was most enjoyable." She had managed to ruin yet another happy marriage, something that pleased her almost as much as the acts that were required to do such a treacherous thing.

"An actress?" she questioned with a smirk. "And I suppose the two of them spent the night talking about the latest theater news?" Raising a brow she smiled darkly. Any woman who managed to find her way to Eward's bed was a whore in Edith's eyes, but she would never admit to the jealousy she felt.

"I am glad." Harry smiled. Eward, at least, was not such a nasty piece of work, or at least, he was more fun while being such. He was a social bastard. Perhaps that was why Harry liked him so much.

"You know I would never supply your brother with any woman that wouldn't satisfy or amuse him. But it isn't any of my business to ask how she has satisfied or amused him, Edith, you know that." Harry retorts, crossing his arms across his chest, not offended even if he thought she was trying her hardest to wind him up.

Edith sighed. "I do not think the question of how she does that needs to be asked," she admitted simply. She would talk to Eward about it later, as she often did. Of course she would do her best to make it sound as if she was approaching her brother out of concern for his behavior and not out of spite.

It was the prefect little world she had dreamed up, if only her brother would play by her rules. She could run around with whomever she wished to, while he remained alone at home. It all made perfect sense to the young woman who assumed the world revolved around her

"Personally, Edith, I don't believe any questions need to be asked. What your brother does as man of the house is completely up to him. I am only here to provide what he likes at that moment." He explains, smiling slightly. "Be it whores or dancing boys. I'm sure I could find you something you liked too, if you ever wanted to ask." He adds, wondering if the implication will upset her.

His last remark earned him a slightly annoyed look that Edith usually reserved for her brother. "I do not need your help in getting the things I want, I have no trouble getting them on my own," she said stubbornly, her arms folded across her chest. She wasn't entirely upset, however, it was on rare occasion that she passed up a chance to overreact and possibly cause a scene.

"As I've noticed, Edith." Harry says, stepping closer and patting her companionably. "But if you let me help you, I'm sure I could find you very more gentleman suitors." He said, before pitching her cheek, "Perhaps you could even manage two at a time?" And with that, before she could attack him, he turned on his heel and made his way to the stairs, climbing the first three and grinning at her over the banister. "Such a sweet child."

"I have no problem finding gentlemen on my own!" Edith said loudly. He was already walking on thin ice with her and his next comment was enough to push the young woman over the edge, but before she could react he was already heading up the stairs. "Scoundrel!" she yelled after him before going into her room, slamming the door loud enough to wake everyone in the house.
