Anyone interested in playing a 20-something male with storylines ready?

 

I’m looking for a protégé for Harry. Someone would could potentially take over his businesses and continue to legitimise them. He’d be an ambitious, cocky young man who reminds Harry a lot of himself at that age – all the talent with none of the experience. Jamie Bell pb preferred but that’s open to discussion.

 

Plotlines: Becoming involved in the Gang War that’s brewing. He could be loyal or playing both sides off against each other although it would be nice to have someone who’s loyal to Harry (and who isn’t Nell).

General gang related things such as dealing with the dog fights and racketeering. I’d be really interested in playing out this sort of thing as I want to focus on Harry’s other interests besides the theatre.

Possible (if you’re up for it) plotlines with Nell because there’s nothing like trying to get your boots under the master’s bed.

 

Also, any characters already in game who’d be interested in gambling because I would really like to get Harry and the dog fights off the ground.

Think a sexy Slater, well turned out and even possibly more ruthless. He grew up in a torn household, his father murdered his mother when he was just thirteen which scarred him for life (among other things) but he got his own back by stabbing him to death. He's an incredibly emotionally detached person. He's in the same line of business as Slater, only he's been sent out to London to get Revolutionaries!!! So a very specific job, whilst he does others on the side... his bio is up and running so:

I've been considering bringing in a character with a Richard E. Grant PB (him from Scarlet Pimpernel) but I'm having a hard time thinking any futher than PB choice.

I don't want to take a character on the wanted characters page but I would like to bring in something that would be wanted by the community so what I'm asking is pimp me professions you can see Richard E. Grant in. He'd be upper-class if that helps.

Yo! Anyone up for a sceeene?

Averaging a new character a day. Go me! I now have my brother’s laptop which has internet connection which means it should slow down now hopefully and someone else will get a chance.

This is Fabian Augustus Burnbridge. He’s sixteen and the ward of Judge Augustus Burnbridge, and also the illegitimate son of the judge’s sister, Lucy.
Fabian is a sickly boy with a weak heart who is constantly under the care of nurses due to his condition and is forever taking medicine. He’s only allowed outside once a week to go to church and visit his mother’s grave.

Despite his illness Fabian is a kind, sweet boy who has very little to amuse him apart from the books in the library and weekly visits from a representative from the Church. He wishes he could go outside more – possibly take a trip to Bath as he’s heard the healing waters there could help restore him, or maybe to the seaside to take in the sea air but his uncle simply won’t hear of it.

Fabian is set to become the fifth earl of Carmarthen although he fears his weak health would prevent him from taking position of the title and he doesn’t want the family line to die out with him, nor for an obscure cousin to use his illegitimacy against him and take the house and inheritance. With that in mind he’s settled to find his uncle a woman to marry although he’s yet to meet anyone who meets his standards.

Plots: I’d love for him to meet Doctor Daniel as Fabian needs a physician to come for check-ups and refills of pills and potions.
To have some friends his own age. Maybe Evander?
Convincing Judge Augustus to allow him that trip to the seaside and who would tag along?

Characters I’d like to see in game:
The housekeeper/head nurse. A formidable and strict older woman who keeps everything in line and prevents Fabian from becoming over-excited (or having any fun!) Maggie Smith pb requested.

A younger, newer maid who wishes to change the way Fabian’s care is delivered and is at odds with both Judge Augustus and the housekeeper, who has the possibility of losing her job hanging over her head if she isn’t careful.

Fabian’s father. A scoundrel and waster who has come back only upon hearing that his son will inherit the family title, but only if the judge doesn’t marry. He wants to take advantage of the young boy’s good nature and prevent any other heir from being born. He plans to live off the inheritance through his son.

PB is Henry Thomas who was Elliot in E.T! My little geeky heart is terribly happy.

HIIIII to all the new characters and WELCOME to the new players! I've no idea who you are so pleeease let me know? I realise now I have NO idea what is going on, so please fill me in? I missed all of you lots and lots and can't wait to get back into the swing of things!

And with that in mind I bring you the mother of Katherine and Miles Rochester, the very elegant Georgina Rochester.

Georgina is the widow of Percy Rochester and is attempting to secure a profitable future for her son by sleeping her way through the upper-classes. She also wants to marry Katherine off to one of her old lovers as soon as possible. At twenty-two the girl is positively an old maid and no-one will ever love her if she doesn't stop filling her head with the nonsense in Miles's books, which he should stop writing as there is nothing so difficult to marry as a novelist!

Despite her conservative views with her children she's rather a hypocrite when it comes to herself. After all, she's doing it all for them. They should be grateful.

Her PB is the most delectable Miranda Richardson although icons of her in Sleepy Hollow are like gold dust.

I'm open to any and all plots. She'd love to meet the Montford-Miles's, especially considering Eward and Katherine's relationship, and anyone else who might be useful to her. Currently she's the mistress of Judge Augustus and thinks he has a very fine title Katherine should acquire weather she likes it or not.

And she’d also like to find a suitably rich and submissive girl for Miles who she can lord it over to the end of her days.

This is Lord Augustus Burnbridge, Earl of Carmarthen. Not only is he a Lord, he is also a Judge, first and formost, and deals with a range of criminal cases, from tavern-brawl murders to attempts on the life of the King.

He is also the uncle of Fabian Burnbridge, the illigitimate son of his half-sister and a man whose identity His Honour would dearly love to know. He'd have him beaten and then bring him to court on charges of assult, rape, forced attentions, buglary, sodomy, treason and littering and anything else he might get be able to get a guilty verdict on.

Aside from that, he looks after his frail nephew as well as he can, and hires the best doctors, tutors and nurses to tend to the boy's every need. He also has the local priest come to see the boy every day for prayers, frightened that should something happen to the boy that his eternal soul will not be properly cared for.

Although 60, he's not yet been married, too career minded, and then too concerned with the health of his half-sister and then her son. He's opening to marry a young lady capable of having at least one son, so that someone other than Fabian can take over his duty as Earl. Not that the old castle needs much caring for, and not that the family has been to Wales for the last three generations, but it's still a duty.

His mistress is Georgina Rochester, although the two are far from in love they do occasionally argue like a married couple, and have similiar goals and asperations for their families.

I'd love to have some of his employees in-game, such as the Housekeeper (Maggie Smith from Secret Garden PB) and Fabian's nurse, and perhaps some meetings between himself and Katherine Rochester (if that's acceptable) as Georgina might try and set the two up. I'd also like his relationship between other noble gentry to be developed, and also perhaps with poorer characters- those who he might have ruled against or for in the past, those who might be trying to offer him goods or money to see things in their favour, that sort of thing.

Hello, everyone!  I'm Luxe, and I'll be bringing you Teresa Anna Manzoni ... aka Annie Roper-Darby, nee Giles; aka Georgiana Williams, Sophie Appiani, Anna Sutcliffe, Anya Orlov... you get the idea. She is played by the immortal and amazing Vivien Leigh.

Anna is a sugar-and-arsenic-coated freakshow, who happens (through no desire of her own) to be the mother of three children: Ann, Harry and Mary Roper (whatever else they want to call themselves is none of her concern). Throw Scarlett O'Hara, Mrs Coulter, the White Witch in a blender and this is what you get. She's a professional mistress and widow, who's facing the fact at long last that she will not be young forever. Although, given that she's a 49-year-old who can pass for a 30-something, it's not as if she hasn't given immortality a good try.  It's been rumored that she became Satan's mistress in return for staying young, which is a total lie. Anna never had a soul that she's aware of, and anyway the devil's never offered. 

Anna has spent the last 8 years or so in Italy and Russia mostly although she has traveled to various spas around the continent, always in the company of wealthy men, often those in the military. She has been married twice since she last saw England- to a Russian general who was a cousin of the lover of Catherine the Great (surname of Orlov), and then to an untitled Italian aristocrat and intellectual (hence, Manzoni). Both of them died tragically. She's returning to England from Italy in order to escape her mourning period.

More info on Anna is at her journal, but all you really need to know is that she's a psychopath in fashionable clothing. Selfish, manipulative, heartless, charming, charismatic, scheming and delighted with herself.  Anna just looooves Anna, but she'll let people think she loves them too if they've got diamonds in their hands.

She's eager to collect some lovers, companions, and gossip-hounds. She has already gotten word that perhaps her useless son wasn't as useless as she'd thought and she's going to try to find him and make him miserable grace him with her motherly affection.

Some reunions with Ann, Harry and Mary are definitely in order. Maybe a run-in with Slater... Anything else really. She's happy to do anything hat might benefit her socially or economically.

Roz here, again, with a new character. This is Beth Downing, although she also goes by the name Madam De La Mort and she is a fake medium and the mistress of Sergius Petrov.

Beth came from a poor London family and from an early age she used to help her grandmother telling fortunes and palm reading. The old woman claimed that Beth had the sight but what Beth really had was a talent for telling people what they wanted to hear. She left home at the age of fifteen and has been travelling around Bath and other fashionable towns, entertaining the rich and spoilt with visions and contact with the dead.

While travelling she affected the title Madam De La Mort – what with the troubles in France it gives her an air of tragedy and people are much more likely to take spiritual advice from a haunted French visionary than from a common cockney tart.

She met Sergius through his poor, deceased second wife whom she did fortune telling for. Sergius, being a conman himself, could tell when he was being taken for a ride but Beth was young, beautiful and immoral and soon joined him in his bed.
Now she helps him with his blackmail, influencing when she can with her particular talents in lies and artistry.

So I am looking for plots with Beth. Who needs to contact a dead relative? Who wants to know what the future holds? Who is willing to pay a ridiculous price for these and other services? Also looking for rivals or those to be suspicious of her gifts.

There would be more information about her on her journal but I left the data key at home so currently her profile is not up but she’s eighteen and pb is the beautiful Amelia Warner.

Well, to start with I’ll say that I’m terribly surprised no-one has yet stolen Jack Davenport of POTC fame for a character on Toujours, so I am going to get in now and use him before anyone else can!

This is Makepeace Avery, the eldest son of a Quaker preacher. Makepeace was expected to follow his father’s footsteps, but the two never really saw eye-to-eye, and his father disapproved of his lust for travel and new places. Makepeace confided in his bookish younger brother, Endeavour, who neither supported nor dissuaded his brother; secretly pleased that if Makepeace did not take the position of preacher, he could, and it was a position he felt himself far more suited to. And so Makepeace left the family home and rural town after his father’s death, taking what money had been left for him, and made his way to London.

 

There, he bought himself a commission as Ensign in the Royal Navy. At 20, he was hardly the youngest of officers. He travelled to the Caribbean, the Orient, India, Africa and the Americas, working his way up the ranks until he was attached to the Royal Navy offices in Cairo, Egypt. Now 38, he's realised he is unlikely to advance much further in the Navy without funds, or connections to high-society in London.

 

He has been granted extended leave of six months, and will be returning to England. There, he hopes to find a suitable wife who will advance his position, as well as make friends of his own in order to gain the promotion he seeks.

 

However, his family, religious as they are, disapprove. They believe Makepeace has become corrupted by the Navy and by those outside of the Quaker sect, and they are hardly about to allow him to marry a lady who doesn’t share their religious convictions.

Things I forgot to Mention Before:
Makpeace will be staying at Louisa's boarding house. Makepeace is addicted to tea. He won't drink coffee or alcohol, and for at least one day a week he eats meals only consisting of lentils and pulses and beans, because that's what Quakers do. :P

 

Desired Plots:

A young lady for Makepeace to “walk-out” with, although the relationship is likely not to come to anything.

Some colleagues in the Navy to advise him, tease him for his beliefs, etc.

Aloha! Two things! One - we're switching positions at work due to someone being on vacation so I will NOT be online during the day for the next week. I'll still be able to reply to threads for a few hours when I get home, but things will be a bit slower. However this schedule will only last through the 18th (next Friday). That Saturday, everything will be back to normal.

Two - would anyone like to thread with either Lucas or Charlot? They're up for anything and could use some excitement! I would especially like to scene with the other Blake siblings. As I've been a little out of the loop - has anything went on that Lucas would know about?

I'm afraid loves that Roz and I still don't have home internet access, due to SKY and BT fucking us about. I'm so so sorry to those who want to do plots with us, and for those we've left hanging since the start of the month. We will be back just as soon as we can, and will continue to check periodicly through university internet connections ^^

Tomorrow morning/afternoon (Friday 4th) I shall be away in Ibiza until late late Saturday (12th) night. Until then I'll be mostly packing and trying to sort stuff out before we leave, but inbetween that I'll be following up threads and plottage and generally trying to get things done which I said I would before I go.

I've no idea if I'll be able to go on the internet for long at all. If the hotel doesn't have it, I only know one place in the resort that definitely has internet so it'll probably be once or twice throughout the whole holiday.

Hello there ladies and gentlemen, Mari here again with my second character!

Cordelia, called Delia, is Slater's only daughter and his 'little princess'. She loves her father and brother dearly, though she is completely unaware of the darker sides of their characters, they seem to be her only blind spot since she does her best to know everything about everyone. More information can be found here. She may be cool and peaceful outwardly, but watch out if you make her angry!

Anyway, being a Slater, she's of course up for any sort of trouble. Any ideas, be it plottage or whatever, I'd love to hear them, and the easiest way to reach me is through AIM (you can find my sn on Delia or Olivia's journals once you've friended either one of them).
