Welcome to the Deck 5 Lounge

Each Saturday, join the Enterprise crew and your fellow travelers in the Deck Five Lounge to meet new arrivals, catch up with those you haven't seen in a few days, try a new drink, or just enjoy the spectacular view.

OOC Information

Narvin wasn't a sociable sort of fellow, but he was a man who had a hell of a lot less responsibility now that he'd been unceremoniously dumped on this primitive vessel. He was taking stock of just how primitive, so he could come up with means to ameliorate the situation while sitting with his back to a viewing point.

A drink sat on the table before him and his eyes were on his PADD, though it drifted occasionally so he could take stock of who was in the room.

	"Something interesting there on your PAD?" She'd taken to shorting it, in fact, she'd named hers Paddington Little. She couldn't help it, people sitting around looking as though it was the last place they wanted to be while at a social, welcome sort of event, she just had to speak to them. This whole space thing was still a bit shocking for Alicia. Sure, she'd been in this new world about a week now, but that didn't stop her from finding the whole thing completely insane. She was lucky she had good flatmates, and so far most everyone she'd chatted to was welcoming.

On a mission to try every single sort of drink, she made her way to the bar and turned to someone standing next to her. "What do you recommend?" She asked with a curious glint in her eye and a bright smile.

For the most part Daisy was now used to the way things were aboard the Enterprise. Her random memories had been a nasty shock but she'd settled back into a routine now and training with Intelligence was giving her something to focus on. The influx of new people made her wonder if something was going on that they didn't know about but tonight was not the time to think of it.

Daisy was stood by the bar, watching the people walking in and out of the lounge. When someone spoke she turned to face them with a warm smile. "That depends what your tolerance is like and how drunk you want to get," she told the woman next to her.

Tilting her head slightly to the right, Alicia studied the wide range of options behind the bar. If she were honest, it was a little overwhelming, and after her experience with the Rectangle Grump, she was in the mood for something more fun. She wasn't sure describing what she was up for as fun would be useful though.

"Hmm..." She started, "well, my tolerance is rather high, probably don't want to get too drunk being new around here, wouldn't want my flatmates to have to put up with me overly drunk." She answered. "No wines or beers though from earth, I've got a rather good handle on those. The goal of all of this is to explore yeah? Might as well start with the drinks." She said. "I'm Alicia by the way."

Daisy waited as the woman studied the range of bottles behind the bar. It was startling just how many options there were and Daisy was convinced there was even more to choose from since their shore leave on Earth. Actually knowing Lucifer that wasn't that surprising at all.

"Well if you don't want to get too drunk then avoid Romulan Ale, that stuff is lethal and I think it might be illegal, not entirely sure." Daisy had tried it once, she still wasn't sure if she wanted to try it again. "The Risan Mai-Tai isn't too bad or if you want something a little more out there the Klingon Martini but that's an acquired taste I think," she told her, smiling as she took a drink from her glass. "Nice to meet you, Alicia, I'm Daisy. You enjoying life on the Enterprise so far?"

If Rose wasn't here, Lissa was pretty sure she'd be a lot more nervous about this new experience, the whole concept of living in space still made her nervous. She had so many questions, so many things she wanted to understand that she was pretty sure she was going to give herself a headache thinking about it all.

Having heard about the Saturday night welcome/catch up event, Lissa wasn't going to miss it. She found herself sitting at a table sipping something she'd never heard before watching everyone around her. She should stand up and talk to someone, but she was too fascinated by everything around her that she lost track of time just watching people.

These kinds of gatherings were often a little too mentally 'loud' for River, but she liked them all the same. It was a great way to meet new people or observe the ones she hadn't quite been able to approach yet.

She ordered herself a coffee instead of alcohol, and looked around. River's eyes spotted someone who looked like they enjoyed the quiet as much as she did, but maybe wanted a little bit of sympathetic company.

So she wandered over with her cup and took up a seat next to Lissa. "It's fun to sit at the edges of these things sometimes. You see things other people miss."

Lissa was always careful to smile without showing her fangs, and she smiled just like that at River.

"Sometimes I think it's a better way of learning the room, barging right in, it's easy to miss a lot." She agreed and offered her perspective at the same time.

"I'm Lissa. I just got here last Sunday," Lissa said even though she had a feeling she didn't need to explain.

If Lissa had fangs, River definitely didn't notice. Only that the smile seemed at once warm and slightly... careful, and River thought that seemed only natural. It was mixed company on a strange ship, after all.

"I'm River," She stated her name, then sipped at her coffee. "I was here... right before earth. I've lost track of the time. The ship had an accident for a few days, and we drifted. I think my mind is still drifting with it sometimes. Oh."

She paused and glanced at Lissa, "It's all fixed now, in case I just scared you."

	Pike wasn't one to drink a lot in front of the crew, but getting to know the crew was always a good idea. And the travelers as well. He had a glass of Andorrian brandy on the rocks that he was nursing at a table, trying to look approachable and not simply losing himself in work and reports. Mary wasn't intimidated by him at all, really. Who knew whether that was a good or bad thing? Perhaps it was because she was used to being around rather highly ranked individuals and knew how to carry herself.

She put her hand gently on his shoulder to alert him of her presence before she sat down next to him, a glass of wine in her hand. She'd consumed enough liquor in the last week that it would have made even Lucifer jealous. Never intoxicated in public though. Once had been enough for her. Mary was finally starting to feel a bit better about her current situation, thus the wine this evening.

"How are you, Admiral?" She wasn't going to bring up Jim unless he wanted to have that conversation.

He looked up at the hand on his shoulder, jerking him out from mentally outlining the next chapter of the starfleet history he was working on. His notes had been up to date until his death, but he had five years to catch up on. And he was wondering if it was too selfish to want to create a separate history of the USS Enterprise and her adventures.

"Can't complain. Glad to be on the ship and have things back to normal. And yourself?"

Her friends in Starfleet had told her that she should get to know the travelers. Jaylah wasn't sure why since they were transient and could disappear as randomly as they appeared. Plus, she wasn't sure how many of them were actually trustworthy. Although the same could be said of some of the crew that she didn't know.

It was good to be back on the Enterprise and since she wasn't on duty tonight, she was taking advantage of the lounge, standing at the bar and pointing to some of the brightly colored bottles.

"I will try that one, that one, that one, and... that one.. You can make them small, but I want to taste to see if they are any good."

"I have not seen these before and I wish to try them," Jaylah answered simply. Friends at the Academy had helped her socialize, but sometimes it was still something of an awkward scenario. So far though, she'd enjoyed some of the drinks and foods she'd sampled on the Yorktown and in San Francisco.

When a blue drink was set in front of her, she took a sip and made a face. "I do not like this one." She pushed it aside and waited for the next one.

"I do not know you. Who are you?"

During his time on Earth, Mon-El had gotten used to having something to do. Which is why he'd signed up to work as a bartender again. Besides, he actually enjoyed the work. Even if it had taken some time to get used to being..normal again. What with not being directly below a yellow sun anymore.

He'd had a few days on shift now, and was mostly used to the way this bar was set up. And, meanwhile was quite happily serving drinks, while waiting for his shift to be over.

He was restacking the shelves when he noticed someone approach the bar. Grinning welcomingly he approached them, and leant on the bar slightly. "Hey there. What can I get you?"
