Entry tags:! enterprise, - crew quarters, ^ log, lucifer morningstar | lucifer, mary crawley | downton abbey

WHO: The Devil and Lady Mary
WHEN: 226403.26, morning
WHERE: Her room, D-18
SUMMARY: The logical conclusion of this. Mary wakes up with Lucifer in her bed. All hell probably breaks loose.
WARNINGS: None really

It was a good thing that there was no natural sunlight on board the Enterprise, though there was a light in the room that grew stronger as the sleep cycle came to an end. Mary was groggy and she could feel a migraine brewing in her temple. The light was too bright. She moaned and rolled over.

She snuggled into the warm mass next to her, the fact that there shouldn't be a warm mass there not even dawning on her. It felt good to be cuddled up against it. Mary was still too tired to think straight and she didn't want to open her eyes because of that damn light, so for now she was content to lie quietly.

"Shut up," she said, and laid her head back on his shoulder. "That's a good thing. I cannot say I relate directly, but I do know what it's like to want to be your own person." Mary had to remake herself after Matthew's death, and she thought that she had done a pretty good job of it. She'd come out stronger on the other side.

Lucifer nodded. He believed her when she said that, because he could see it in her. "You said last night that sometimes all people see are your looks. You're far more than that to me," he mentioned. He'd told her as much before, but it bore repeating.

"Thank you," she said quietly. Mary shifted so that she was in front of him and embraced him again, wanting a proper hug. She buried her face in his neck and breathed him in, trying to ignore the pounding in her head. "I don't usually touch other people like this."

Lucifer smirked at that. "Neither do I." He briefly considered mentioning that he was even less inclined to once realizing he was a stand-in for someone else, but managed to stop himself. Progress was measured in small steps.

Mary didn't necessarily see him as a stand-in for Jim. She didn't even know what she felt for Jim other than an initial attraction. This affection was hers, even if it felt very odd. But his arms were warm and she found that she didn't give a damn.

"It's quite lovely," she said, then sighed. "Alright, now get the hell out of my bed so I can go back to sleep."

Chuckling, Lucifer carefully climbed out of the bed and found his blazer. "Right," he said. "Drink some more water and check the replicator for the space age equivalent of ibuprofen."

He paused in the doorway, "You should be able to just sleep it off though," he mentioned, before exiting. That had been an odd night.

No goodbye, but Mary was still exhausted and in pain, so it didn't really matter. She was ready to get back to sleep as soon as possible. Whatever fallout from this would be dealt with later. Mary just hoped to God she hadn't made a fool of herself in front of anyone but Lucifer.
