Kat would never say she was too old to party, she’d hang herself before she ever did that, but Halloween? She was maybe getting too old for Halloween. She just didn’t see the appeal of getting dressed up in a stupid costume and running around all night with other people in stupid costumes, the whole thing was a little cheesy. She’d only be in it for the alcohol, but the great thing about Camelot was that there was always alcohol lying around. Especially on holidays. Camelot always had something going on during Halloween, usually a party, because what was better on Halloween night than a party in a creepy castle? Kat didn’t care what anybody else said, this castle? It could be a little creepy. Especially at night. When the power keeps going out.
“Ouch!” Whoever keeps stepping on my heel, I will frakking hurt you,” Kat hissed, stumbling forward to catch herself on the wall in the corridor. She wasn’t even sure what floor they were on anymore, but the original plan had been to head to the kitchens where there were hopefully flashlights, or at the very least maybe some matches. If the kitchens didn’t have candles, they could always just steal some of the fancy ones mounted on the walls. Creepy castle, yes, but also entirely cliche in its decor.
She and Mike had been on their way back down to the festivities in the main hall when the lights had gone out, and literally bumped into Scott and Liam blindly coming out of one of the training rooms. Now they were all trying to find their way down to the lower levels, but the castle got surprisingly dark when the lights were out and the sky was overcast, so there wasn't even some natural light shining in through the windows to guide them. Kat could barely see two feet in front of her, and she was kind of drunk, so she grabbed onto Mike’s hand in a moment of panic when she felt those weird prickles on the back of her neck. “Mother frakker! ... Your castle isn't secretly haunted, is it, Morgan?”
