Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!au, !doppelganger, andrei kovac, leander durant, pandora bludsworth

Who: Pandora Bludsworth and Andrei Kovac (and others...>.> maybe)
What: Pandora has come up with a magnificent idea!...Not.
When: Backdated...Saturday night?
Where: Santa Monica, California
Warnings: Gross AU character death. Ugh.

The idea was solid. Almost completely foolproof. There didn't seem to be any downsides, like, at all! Just so long as everyone else bought into it. Which was why she was sat here tonight. She just hoped that everyone else would turn up, because she'd put so much work into this and if it was only her benefiting then the project might just die before it even got off the ground.

But honestly, what wasn't to love about the idea of blood that they didn't have to hurt people or animals for? And that Mr Henderson had been so helpful when she'd gone to the Resistance about making it. She hadn't dared talk to the Agency or Camelot. They'd probably laugh her out of town, but then, they weren't really very nice people at all. Nervously, she rearranged the chairs she'd set up in this dingy motel room. She was almost thankful that the amount of people that would be affected by this was small. She probably couldn't cope with speaking to a larger crowd.

She picked up her notes again, reading over them to calm her nerves. Which is when she heard the door.

Because Drei's master had a plan, Drei had been allowed to come to this upir gathering on four feet. He was more comfortable around them on four feet than two, anyway, because they were Danger. Being on two legs was good for some things, but when it came to dealing with Danger, his two-legged form was fairly useless. On four feet and covered with fur, he could protect himself from Danger, and protect his master, too.

He padded alongside master as they approached the room where the strange bunny upir was; he'd smelled her before, he knew her scent. Even though she smelled like Prey, master told him not to chase her, so he didn't. Drei hated when master was upset with him.

Though master exchanged words with the bunny upir as they entered, Drei didn't pay much attention to them. Words weren't for him, not now. He couldn't respond, and no one would expect him to understand. He was wolf, not man, and no one in the room would forget that for a second. He settled down by master's chair, scenting the air around him. Master would tell him when it was time for the plan. Drei wouldn't disappoint him.

It wasn't long before Leander sauntered into the room as well. Pandora had invited him personally, and of course he was going to be there. Her idea was brilliant, and he was naturally on board with it. A vampire he was, but he was not interested in hurting living things. It was really the only part of being a vampire that he detested, the uncontrollable blood lust. They needed blood to live, but Pandora's idea could mean he'd never have to hurt someone to survive again.

He made a beeline for Pandora as soon as he entered, briefly noting the others who had already arrived. The presence of a wolf immediately made him uneasy, the two kinds did not get along well in most manners of lore. But, Leander was willing to go on good faith. He didn't like to automatically think the worst in others. That sort of habit was toxic.

"Pandora," he greeted the other vampire with warmth and a kiss on the hand, with all the command and confidence of the reincarnate of Lestat but with a genuine smile that was all his own. "Look at this turn out. I'm proud of you."

With the first knock at the door, Pandora found herself somewhere between wanting to throw up out of nerves and ecstatic that they were actually showing up. It meant there was hope that she could get this off the ground. Her excitement was quickly cooled as the door opened and there was a rather large wolf with the first member to arrive at the meeting. It made her nervous, though she tried her best to hide it. Freaking out now would spoil everything, and Corbin probably wasn't that bad.

Thankfully she didn't have to wait long for more company to arrive, and Leander made her feel safer. He always had that effect. At least with him she knew for sure that he felt the same way about how they had to gain their sustenance. His words would have made her blush had she enough blood in her body to warrant that kind of wasteful application. Still it was enough to make her more confident about the venture.

"Thank you, Leander." She smiled at him warmly even performing a mini curtsey before ushering him to sit down too. She wasn't entirely sure anyone else would turn up, so figured she might as well start now. She could go over it with anyone that turned up late. She handed out some leaflets she had made to the two vampires, being sure to keep a wide berth between herself and the wolf.

"I've been working with someone from the Resistance to create a product that will stop our dependence on living creatures. Dr Henderson thinks that he can produce a completely viable alternative to human blood, and it should be relatively easy to produce, meaning there'll be more than enough for us. Which in turn means that people will have nothing to fear from us. We could be accepted into society as real, productive members. Not predators!" Perhaps she was blabbering, but Pandora was really excited to tell them about this. About the possibilities it would open up for them. She even forgot about Corbin's wolf for a time.

Master was not impressed. Drei was good at reading master's moods. He had to be, to know if master was mad or happy, what he could get away with without punishment. Not impressed was usually a bad thing for Drei, but this time he remembered that master was not impressed with the bunny upir, not him. That was okay, even though master wasn't going to do anything to the bunny upir.

The other one, Drei knew his scent too, and master was not happy with him, either. That was why he'd brought Drei on four feet instead of two. That was why he'd brought Drei at all, really, even though he made the other upirs nervous.

Still, master wasn't giving the signal. Drei whined a little at the wait, but stayed on his haunches, trying his best to look like a friendly wolf who didn't want to chase bunnies at all.

Leander listened intently, applauding Pandora enthusiastically once she'd finished with her speech. He was practically beaming, he was so proud of her, and stood up gracefully to meet her and grasp her hand in his in a brief show of unadulterated admiration. Not immediately letting go, he turned towards the audience and held her hand in the air like he was congratulating her on winning a race.

And she had, in a way. A race against mother nature's cruel joke she put on vampire kind. Thanks to Pandora, they might no longer have to be slaves to the way vampires were made and conditioned. No longer would they have to be dependent on fresh human blood, and therefore have to waste so many innocent lives. He was looking forward to it, honestly. It was about time somebody came in here and revolutionized the place a little bit.

"See, right here? This is why we exist. To always better ourselves." Leander turned away from the small audience and faced Pandora with the honor of a gentlemanly bow before letting go of her hand and allowing her to regain physical control of the room. "And Pandora is here to show us the way."
