I guess you knew him better than I did, but if you want a tip: ask a lot of follow-up questions. In my experience, he's not exactly what you'd call forthcoming.

Uh huh. I never really planned on kids, believe it or not, but a few years after I would up here, apparently - you know. These things happen. And really, there's been plenty of times in my life where if you asked me five years earlier whether I thought I'd be, say, jumping headfirst into a trash compactor, I'd have said that sounds really unlikely, but - well, that's a bad example. That's always been pretty likely. ~~But there was the one time~~

Anyway, what I'm tying to say is, sometimes you don't see these things coming, but then they show up, and it's kind of ... You can sort of see how it might have happened. Right?

	Look, I didn't ask for a blood sample. What does lying about it get him? ~~I'm not exactly a prize p~~ They have other records here that ... corroborate it, I guess.
