Entry tags:cullen rutherford, solas, the inquisitor

While I had no idea what happened these past few days and while it was more then a little frightening I now have both time and calm to introduce myself. I am Evelyn, and come from Thedas and some know me as the Inquisitor. I am very grateful for the opportunity to know so many of my world, and learn of the people of this world and others. As it stands if I am able to be of assistance please let me know.

[Cullen]

You know we never figured this out. Trevelyan-Rutherford? Rutherford? I'm very happy to use the latter as it might be the nicest title I've had.

I adore the little girl. I know she's not like Pup was, but I'm highly in favor of Tyrdda, you know from the story I found in the Hinterlands? That or Jenny. Sera would approve of the latter. Bull'd call her Dog and Dorian might call her something Tevene.

I've gone and gotten a few things to wear. I might need help. Oh and I didn't dream much? Old memories you know, things I encountered but not normal things. Is there no Fade here? Which makes the last few days rather unnerving. Is that common?

[Solas]

Hello, old friend. We need to speak. I know who you are, and what you planned. I stay adamant at changing your mind.

I had so many jokes in store. And I know. Looking back on our conversations you never did lie.

And I am so sorry Solas. Do you need anything? I can push off arguing with you over your plans for a little. You're still my friend, and as a fellow mage I know it's odd enough without a Fade so it must be worse for you.

Perhaps once, when I told you I did not know how Corypheus had obtained the orb. Though that is not entirely a lie. I left it for him but I do not know precisely how he obtained it.

There is little you can do, lethallan, but I thank you anyway. I can only wish to be returned home. Home might be a single flame, dully flickering, but it is familiar.

Know I respect you and think highly of your knowledge but that was one of the most foolish things I think you did. How, exactly, did he look like the good idea?

Perhaps there's frilly cakes here too? We could look for them if you want? A distraction, or at least the attempt at it.

He had the power I needed and it seemed to me, from what I had learned, that few would miss him. I was so weak when I awoke and my most trusted friend Felassan I had few resources at the time. In hindsight, I should have made the effort to lay eyes upon him, no matter what it might have cost me. I cannot say I would not have still allowed him to obtain the orb but I would have exerted more control over matters.

I believe I would like that. I am fond of those frilly cakes.

You know when they told us about 'evil Magisters' he was actually close to what I actually pictured. I see where you get the idea no one would miss him, though.

Advantages everywhere old friend. We'll have some cakes and talk about how odd the weekend was. Did you stay safe, by the way?

I doubt he sees himself as evil. He sees only the empire he has lost. I can sympathise. But his use of the red lyrium is abominable.

That would be pleasant. I did. My magic was more than sufficient to ward off the beasts, even without the Fade.

Poisoning people as to gain their allegiance isn't the mark of a good leader. I wouldn't compare you two. Oh, you weren't there when I found the Titan were you? Remind me to tell you of that, and of Ameridan. You'd have liked the latter.

That's what I did. Cullen was a dear as ever and made sure we were alright. Would you like to meet the dog? Then after, cakes. More because I have no real idea where we could go. We'll have to look.

The Enuvaris would disagree with you. Titans? No, I did not know of that. I would like to hear it. Ameridan. Was he not the first Inquisitor? Your predecessor? There were a few books on the subject in the library.

I saw in some previous posts on this network that you and the Commander had married. May I offer my congratulations? I would like to meet your dog though they are not always so pleased to meet me. I may have embraced the title of Dread Wolf a little too fully for their liking. I imagine we shall find something.

The more I hear, the less highly I think of them. And I'll share because it's fascinating. And he was the last before me. He'd disappeared and someone thought they'd found his last resting place. I made sure his tale was known. The Chantry wasn't fond of it.

We did marry yes, so thank you. He'd found a Mabari too. And she's just a baby, I'm sure she'll be fine.

There was a reason I rebelled against them. Why would the Chantry not care to hear of Ameridan? His Inquisition founded the Templar Order and the Seekers, did it not?

Mabari are fine animals. Yes, I suppose she is too young yet to be overly territorial.

He was an elf, for starters, and a mage. And he worshiped both Chantry teachings and the elven Gods together in a sort of unity that I'm starting to think wasn't completely wrong. When I came to where he was supposedly buried, I learned he was keeping a very potent spirit at bay using his own self as a sort of lock. He thought he'd just done it, not aware he'd spend all those long years in a sort of stasis. After that, having to tell him his own love had died not knowing of Ameridan's future I couldn't bear altering the facts.

They are. I do miss that animal. And my horses. And she'll love you, promise.

Ameridan was an elven mage? And he still lived? I am indeed sorry I missed that. The Enuvaris are not gods and neither am I. We are people, infinitely flawed, as they proved again and again. The Dalish worship of them is

Forgive me. You do not deserve my ire.

I suppose it will come as no surprise that I cultivated the friendship of a pair of wolves after they saw fit to hurl the name Fen'Harel at me. I told Blackwall once that I was cocky and hotheaded when I was younger. I am not sure he believed me.

Yes, well he didn't know that. Tricky thing about tales like that is that people forget. That isn't their fault, it's just how things go.

You would. It's a shame Inquisitor didn't come with such perks. And I think out of everyone, Blackwall would have understood if you'd told him everything.

The reason the Elvhen forgot their own history is because of me. Another mistake I will rectify.

I was young and rash and I had a propensity to be contrary. I doubt that.

I can debate that for a while but that's not what this is about. Normal things until you're settled, debates later.

Wearing another name because the one you had was stained with regret, blood, and mistakes? Having it become you, wanting to embody it and trying to become better? You two had a bit more in common then you think Solas.
