Veronica threw her phone across the room and flopped onto the couch, which was temporarily not occupied by Cas or Dean. She rubbed her temples and tried to calm the tempest in her belly. She didn't know what on earth had gotten a hold of her fingers that had lead her to saying all that to Logan. She just knew that something like insanity had come over her when she had watched the news and heard what had gone on in the Tower. Her FRIENDS were there, and worst of that, was that Logan was there. Logan. Just the sound of his name, seeing his name in print and knowing it was attached to him, made her feel hot and cold all over. Why had she told him she loved him still? It was true, but this was not exactly the time for heart to hearts with Logan Echolls. He had a way of showing up at exactly the worst possible time (or...well, also the right possible time to save her...she didn't want to think about whether it was the former or the latter in this case). She just knew that no matter what had been going on between her and Sam, that she knew Sam is the man she wanted to be with. That was never in question. She did love Logan, but Logan was not good for her. At least, THIS Logan wasn't any good for her.
Ignoring that for a moment, she pulled herself together, grabbing her now cracked phone and shoving Sparky and her knife into her back pocket. She wasn't sure exactly what to expect when she got to the tower, but she knew she should be prepared for the worst. She hoped they could even get in there-as glad as she was to get out of the tower right about now, it did make her feel terribly worried about her friends. She glanced at the time and made a face, leaving a note for Cas and Dean (in case they hadn't figured out where they'd be) and then headed out to meet Sam. She knew she'd feel a million times better once she actually saw him for herself and could hold onto him and remember that he was her rock. Her tree, to be precise. Nothing would change that, even if the tesseract likes to play with her mind. Stupid tesseract she thought, not for the first time, as she hurried towards the tower.
