She'd hoped that her joke would lighten the mood somewhat, but she wasn't crazy enough to think that either of them could really laugh right now. Agents with GUNS had basically swarmed the place where their friends lived and SHOT AT PEOPLE. The idea of it made her want to throw up, and even if she had heard from Logan and knew he was alive, she was still worried about him, and of course her other friends in the tower. Jo meant a lot to her, and she meant a lot to Sam too, and she had no doubts that their first priority was to make sure she was okay since they hadn't heard from her.
When he confirmed that, Veronica turned to look at him and nodded, once. "Of course. And...well, Jo wouldn't just let agents waltz in her room without a fight. But it's possible she's laying low somewhere and just made her room LOOK like a fight went on. I don't know. But we'll find her." Veronica was going to think positively about this. She refused to do otherwise.
She felt a little twinge of guilt at hearing Sam say they could track down Logan too. She felt so guilty about having told Logan she loved him, even if it was true, and even if she had been honest and told Sam. She remembered the feeling that had washed over her as she saw her future self and a future Logan pressed against the wall of her father's house and it she remembered how guilty it made her feel, even if she hadn't done it yet. Logan would always have a connection to her, but she wished she could properly convey that he didn't have a hold on her. Not really. Sam was everything, and if he asked her to run off to the end of the world with him right now, she would. She just hoped he didn't ask that, at least until she confirmed everyone was okay.
"I'm ready," she said, deciding against saying anything about Logan at all.
