Okay, um. Not like I didn't know about this to begin with because hello, girl who wanted her own Iron Man suit so I could stop getting kidnapped half the time and start saving herself because I'm no damsel in distress, TYVM.. but I now have a rekindled hate for double standards.

So, like, anyone know how to treat a black eye? Like, when its still somewhat of a red eye? Other than ice? Or is that all you can use? IDK I'm a computer expert, not medical.

	Do you have a bag of frozen veggies? Instead of ice, my mother sometimes used a bag of frozen peas to help the swelling. And like the woman said down below, gently cleaning the area is a good idea. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Ice, but wrap it in a towel or something, don't put the cold directly against your skin. Some sort of painkiller might help you if it hurts a great deal, however.

But first a few questions: do you have any vision problems that occurred directly AFTER you were... punched, I take it?

I also want you to very gently clean the affected area, just in case you have any scrapes. Use a very mild soap and water, and dry thoroughly. Don't press the ice pack on there, just hold it against it very gently, so you don't continue to traumatize the area.

And if you would like to have someone take a look at it, I'm home all day today.

	Were you able to put anything cold on it? A bottle of water? Or Soda? Because even that will help until you're able to get home. Unfortunately, there isn't actually much you can DO for a black eye except for putting ice on it. It'll heal on its own in a few weeks. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
