THE MANDALORIAN:

Are you ready to resume the youngling's training?
SABINE WREN:
Have you ever heard of a group of Mandalorians who abide by creed never to remove their helmets? I must admit, I had never heard of this before I met this one. Not even Pre Vizsla or Bo-Katan left their helmets on at all times.

It'll give him something to occupy his mind, and he is very curious and full of wonder.

He has a very strong bond with you, affectionate.

Also wears him out so that wonder doesn't turn into wander.

...that something he told you?

Younglings do often present that challenge.

No. All living things are a part of the Force, and when you're a Force user, you can feel other's emotions. When he looks at you, I can feel what he feels for you.

And foundlings.

You read that off everyone? Emotions I mean.

And foundlings.

Unless they're actively suppressing their feelings using the Force, yes. Force users have to learn to control their emotions, as we're often inundated with others, as well as our own.

I don't disagree. It's why we were peacekeepers, and not soldiers. Or least why we were supposed to be peacekeepers instead of soldiers.

I wouldn't know about peacekeeping, but you don't survive unless you can fight.

Neither would I. As long as I can remember, I was a soldier. I started at fourteen at the beginning of the Clone Wars.

I'm not used to talking about pasts. No one in the Tribe shared and most people I met were business partners passing through.

That seems to me to be a lonely way to live, but there was a time I went by an entirely different name to hide who I really was.

Maybe. I'd call it quiet.

After you stopped being Jedi?

Yes and no. I wasn't not a Jedi for long before I came back into the service of the Republic at Lady Bo-Katan Kryze's request. Maul had taken over Mandalore and her people. She wanted my help to get it back. Unfortunately, the Emperor's long awaited plan to destroy the Empire and the Jedi was nearly complete. The clones had a behavioral modifier chip that when signaled, they would kill their Jedi generals and commanders. We were in the midst of that when the clones turned against me. I barely escaped.

That began over a decade of Fulcrum activity. Spying, getting intel. I joined with Bail Organa, of Alderaan, to fight against the Empire. The kind of life I had was a lonely one. I used to be surrounded by brothers and sisters, my Jedi masters who were like family to me, and the clones who became family. I could always reach out with the Force and find them there, but after Order 66... It was even lonelier than I'd ever felt before. Reaching out, and there was nothing. No one.

I didn't stay long in the Enclave between work, but I had my Tribe. Most were killed by Imps. If you have people, you stand to lose them. Eventually.

Sometimes that quiet isn't so bad in comparison.

That is the nature of life and living, but when they are snatched from you by dark forces, that is a whole different level of pain for me.

It can be, if you're searching for quiet.

Yeah, well. In an overcrowded ship with no real escape from people, searching out quiet is survival.

I would be happy to give you some quiet time. I know several children who would enjoy meeting him as well. Displaced, only, of course.

Yeah. I can pay for the extra time.
