Okay, so someone has to have my Spider powers, right? Does anyone have a strange gland that appeared on the inside of your wrist? If you press it some weird goop sort of oozes out of it. Unless you press really hard, then it's like a spider web?

I traded with another Spider, apparently. He insists that Spider Senses don't have mute buttons.

...it's been a long day already.

It doesn't, and it's sort of complicated what causes it. And the bigger the threat, the more of a reaction. It's like a buzzing in your head.

I guess he got your powers?

He did. He has no idea how to use them, but he somehow keeps using them. I feel like my skull may rattle clear off.

Does it work the way you just kind of think of something and it happens?

Some magic is a bit more natural in that way. Luckily, the variety that really sparks chaos is the variety where you need to know how to do it. Think pre-Hogwarts magical abilities oopsies.

I want magic.

Man, trust me, if I knew a natural mute button, I would've been using it years ago.

The world is a dangerous place? It'll get better, I promise. It just takes a bit to get used to what it's trying to warn about and the level of danger.

There might be something I'm thinking a shopping trip might be in order. Maybe. Possibly.

Oh, I'm certain this will be loads of fun once the adjustment phase is over.

Shopping trip?

It's quite the parlor trick once that's over. Watch as I close my eyes and walk through this obstacle course without falling into one trap! Or navigate a New York street without bumping into anyone or stepping in something awful.

Yeah. Get some supplies. Maybe something to help that hindbrain buzz.

New York is a long way away, and I don't think you know how to drive that power set yet.

Well, The Broody One has alcohol that can floor a horse. I feel as if that may be an option.

I can be a quick learner? Expect ugh, splinching. I don't want to add that to my experience list.

How about we put a pin in that for a much, much later option? Much, much, much later last ditch option.

You can be a quick learner, but not that quick. I already lost some height. I would prefer to not lose more the hard way.

Pinned, in that case. Where are we off to?

Y'know, I'm kinda enjoying having more of a view than just your collarbones. But yeah, I like you whole. Even if giving that power a go is tempting.

I'm just saying there might be some unknown variables in that which'll make it a lot less nice than planned... Oh! Well, I was thinking maybe one of those smelly soap and bath supplies stores at the mall. Bit of food shopping. Maybe stop by the high school to check on some things.

You say that as if you aren't nearly always hanging off the ceiling or the wall.

[...] Your alcohol tolerance? Of course.

Are you certain going into a crowded public place is the best option right now? Not that I would say no to a chance for a little fun, but you'll pardon that I'm not exactly feeling like myself at the moment.

Why don't you come with a mute button?

It would make team ups so much better.

Excuse you, the team ups would be way more serious and grim dark if the chatter got muted. I provide much needed mood lightening.

I mean, I could go for the full on wooden puppet to match the ears too if you really wanted. But that might take the matchstick thing a bit too literally.
