Now that it isn't the middle of the night and my son and I have slept and eaten more pancakes than I know what to do with--protip always keep emergency money in your bra, ladies--I've got a few questions. I read through the network a bit so might not quite be your typical ones from new arrivals.

Already know the fiction thing; googled myself about 10 minutes into being here.

Has anyone checked the town newspaper archives for more information on the incident that went down at the base?

I saw that you all fought various things when you came back from the cruise ship and the next day the people in town were calling it a gas leak or something like that. More instances of gas leaks or evacuations of the town for something not out of this world might give a better timeline of when things have come through and what occurred in those days right after the attack on the base. Especially since I'm gathering you don't know what happened to the perpetrator(s).

Schools.

My 10 year old can keep glaring at me all he wants, but who can explain the school situation a bit better to me. Because he's going.

Housing. It just shows up? Are you tracking that in any way?

Because Granny's is great but we're not about to move in here.

Town papers are doing the leaks and other weird occurrences, but there's almost next to nothing on the base itself. Top secret, apparently, but if people want to try and find out, it would be helpful. We have some very grainy footage that shows up absolutely nothing but a dark mass before the video is cut.

Housing... we're working on. We have a set of keys with your name on it. We've been working on a way to see if the portal opens around town and spits out housing. I'll have to talk to the science guys.

	They might not say much about the base, but if leaks and other weird occurrences are what is documented when different things have occurred at the base then there might be information to gain from it. You just need to know what to look for. And that's what I heard about the video footage. So keys, but no clue where the house is. This should be fun. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I'll be honest, I've been burning the midnight oil on getting this place up and running. I know there were some people who were interested in looking into what happened, but I think most of that fervor died down. It was on my list, but since it happened twenty years ago, I've been focusing on the portals that have opened up.

Can you take a look at the keys? See if you recognize them? Might give us an idea of what to look for.

	For schooling, the Displaced created a charter school specifically for the children of the Displaced. Weird things happen here — like body swaps and the like — so that's hard to explain at normal schools. Plus some people have different levels of education to content with. 	Never too late to enroll. Class sizes are pretty small. Less than 8 students per teacher, and that's for the large classes. It's pretty one on one. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
