Working shifts at the fort has been quieter than I expected. I end up spending most of my time cleaning up and trying to make the place look even remotely hospitable. Hope that's alright with the rest of you who work the ward there. Medicine in this time is so primitive, I'm not even sure how you all practice.

I'm thinking of seeing about taking on some shifts at the hospital as well, though I'd probably come into contact with actual patients there. That's the one downside to practicing medicine.

You're a curious healer.

Why do you say that?

I'm given to understand that contact with patients is essential in such professions.

Yeah. Unfortunately.

I'm not a huge people person.

We greatly appreciate the work you have been doing, Dr. McCoy. What updates would you like to see happen?

Sadly, I'm not sure if the updates I want are possible. The technology's just not here yet. No tricorders, no hyposprays, no biobeds.

I think you might be surprised over what some of the others here are able to create. They might not be exactly what you're used to but I believe they may be able to create something similar or just as useful.

You think? I can ask around at least, if you think there's a possibility that I might find what I'm looking for.

I recommend talking to a number of the Voltron crew or a Stark.

I wouldn't mind having a tricorder right about now. I'm working at the hospital.

The hospital? It's alright. Not very busy, which has its pros and cons. We got a drunk who came in last night after punching his fist through a window, and that was the highlight of my day.

Did you have to pick tiny shards of glass out of his hand? I've done that before. Not fun.

Did you do it with your patient vomiting on himself?

You would also be at a hospital. A greater downside, some might say.

I've had poor experiences with the whole institution. They save lives, they help people. But I will avoid them unless entirely necessary.

Well I think most people try to avoid hospitals in general if they can.
