There is no way to explain it that would make any sense ~~to you~~. It is hard even to put it in words. You had lost enough, you all had so much ahead of you. There was no point... to risking anything more happening to any of you, just to come with me. I was the only one that needed to- I was going to die anyway, so whatever needed facing to find Glendower, to stop the demon, to save all of you, all of Henrietta, I could just do it alone. It wasn't worth risking you. ~~None of these sentences make any bit of sense.~~

I want both, all of it. But you all have things you want too, as badly as I want the Barns. I can't ask any of you to give up any of those things.

It is the first time in a long time that I have lived without a goal, without something specifically I am chasing. I was enjoying it, but Henrietta is the only place that has felt like home. My love for it never depended on Glendower. I always planned to return, even if it is only briefly here and there for some years. [...] I have always been coming home myself, one day too. After a few good investments, I might even be able to repurchase Monmouth.

I am not giving up anything to stay near to you, not in the end.
