Wasn't planning on keeping one of these creatures, but this fire dog thing is pretty dang cute, so now I'm thinking about it.

CASSIE SULLIVAN

What do you think? Did you find one you want to keep?

I've heard the name before, but I'm not really sure what they look like. If you decide to keep it, maybe I'll be able to get more familiar with it?

Is it a boy or a girl? Or is it one of those pokemon that are neither?

What sort of special characteristics does it have? You mention fire a couple of times.

It's looking likely that I'll keep it.

I'm actually not sure. I've been thinking of it as a boy, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, it does fire stuff, and has some biting moves, I think. Also seems to have a real good sense of smell and a good bark.

You can take him or her to the Dimensional Research Lab on Akala, where you can get an appointment with the graduate students to check for you? That's what I ended up doing with my pokemon. They also told me the Pokemon School on Melemele will do the same thing.

Maybe I'll do that. Find out what it likes to eat that way too, probably.

Which one are you keeping?

The people at the Lab said mine will eat just about any vegetation, but likes berries, so I'm picking up some native plants.

He's called a Jangmo-o. He stands only two feet, but is heavy for his size. Four legs each with three claws at the end of his paws, with large scales on his shoulders and back, sort of like a tortoise. A long tail, with a heavy ball on the end, that he uses to fight with, and a heavy plate on his forehead. The mouth is a little like a parrot's beak, and there's feathery tufts on his head, like ears (?) and another tuft on his chest. I've heard people describe him as sort of looking like a dinosaur. Supposedly, they're proud warrior-types, which I can appreciate.

Pretty sure mine's a carnivore. I saw it eat a wild rat today.

Never seen anything like that, but definitely sounds interesting.

That's helpful. At least you can be sure that where you live won't be infested with rodents.

When we get on board, I'll show you.
