Absolutely. I learned about it in a neighboring country to mine, but I usually find jewels in my own. So there's always some adapting. What kinds of jewels or colors do you like?

Nothing really fancy or delicate, as I've got two kids 5 and younger, and they like to play with my hair. That's just a recipe for disaster.

And I like most colors, but ocean colors in particular, but I haven't decided on a dress yet, so maybe I should do that first.

I can use a little magic to secure them against small hands, but it would take a little magic to remove them in that case.

Yes, I can match the gems to your dress. And the dress should be the harder part of it.

Maybe just try to weave them in well so they're hard to remove, but if that's not possible I guess magic could work? I don't know a lot about magic.

I'll find a dress, and then we can go look for jewels. I'm Annie, by the way!

I am good at weaving, but I know too well the power of small grabbing fingers. The magic is simple and easy. But it being from my world, it has the disadvantage only two of us here could undo it for you, as opposed to at least one person from any group of people you stare at on the streets of London, Arnes. Course, other magics might work on it. But non-magical application is more complicated technique but simpler on those grounds.

I am Alucard. A pleasure to meet you, Annie.

Not being able to undo it myself probably means I'd end up sleeping with them in. Which doesn't sound super fun, but I could do that, I suppose.

You too, Alucard! Do you want any help getting ready for the ball?

I have done it. But no, that is not always ideal.

Getting ready in your room means I shall be able to sweep Rhy off his feet, for his not seeing the preparations. That already is a great help. But I may too do some shopping, as I have only so much of a wardrobe from home, and balls deserve new outfits.

I just can't guarantee I'll come find you at the end of the ball, I tend to get distracted by my husband.

Ooh, yes. I'm happy to help with that! And if you want to come shopping with me for the clothes part too, you'd be welcome!

And I cannot guarantee to be readily found. I too can get quite distracted. He isn't my husband yet, but we're working on it.

Shopping is a pleasure. And we may complete both in one trip if we're successful on the clothes.

Is he cute??

That would be amazing!

The cutest. In my opinion. I know plenty of people back home who'd agree.

Then we shall have to do it. Sweep those men off their feet.

I can't wait to hear all about him. Shopping with me involves gossiping, I hope you're okay with that.

Yes. I like the way you think!

Ooooh, I want to hear all the gossip. I don't know nearly enough about nearly enough people here.

I would take a bow, but this method of communication does not allow for it.

I don't have much gossip on other people, but you can hear all about me and my family and friends! Just be careful about getting me started on my kids, unless you really want to hear about them.

You can show me your bow when we meet up!

I adore children, so you can talk guilt free once that gets going. I have been suitably warned.

Absolutely. You can have a bow for all different sorts of occasions.

Oh good! My kids are pretty great. Do you have kids? Or want them?

Sounds very fancy.

Hardly meet a kid who isn't. I do not have kids but want them.

Some places are, but even on the high seas, they have their uses.

I'm hoping to have lots more, too!

Ooh. That sounds fun too. Me? I'm nothing special, I just make clothes and jewelry. And I like swimming and fishing.

Clothes and jewelry can definitely be special. And most people are.

I want at least four! I already have two.

You can let me know if you ever want something custom-made! Well, once we're back in Tumbleweed, anyway.

Doesn't it? A whole army of kids!

I look forward to seeing your style, then! I bet I'll be inspired.
