(001) Severus Snape
I suppose it is too much to ask that there is a non-headache inducing explanation to all this.

Would it be easier if you could ask questions?

So far every answer I've received seems equally absurd as the one before it, so I'm beginning to think, not particularly.

I don't know you, however, so it seems to make it less likely this is a dream.

I don't exist in your universe to the best of my knowledge. I might be on one of your future television programs, maybe, but I don't know how that really works. I've never asked Henry if your stories existed in our world or not. Maybe if they do then my show doesn't exist for you? It's weird.

But, anyway, um [...] I recognize you. You were in our Mountain settlement about three years ago. You and I didn't communicate much but I have a thing for faces. You are Mr. Snape. My name is Baelfire Everdeen.

Roughly 40% of that first paragraph made any sort of rational sense.

I think you must be mistaken Mr Everdeen, I have no memory of this.

That's fair.

Most people don't remember when they come back.

Most people don't remember when they come back.

All right, question: Can you unpack that statement for me?

Yes.

It's a generalization. A portion of the community on this vessel were in a place we call Mount Weather, or the Mountain, and as a collective we were there roughly three years ago. When we were there, people would show just as you have now, but their arrival was done so in these Pods that resembled space films? Whenever people disappeared there, and this continues to be the trend for here and the other places we've been, they do so out of thin air. We assume they go back to their original universe and moment in time because no one notices the disappearance.

When a person would come back in Mount Weather, they never remembered being there before. We'd have to go over what was happening all over again. Since we left Mount Weather, sometimes, people will come back now and remember. But it's a very low percentage. My sister left and was gone for about a month. When she returned, she remembered me and our time in the Mountain. But you, as an example, do not remember it.

Did [...] that make sense?

Surprisingly more sense than most of what I've been told made. There is a questionable logic to it at least.

So I was at Mount Weather, but I do not remember it, others were here from the same place, and will likely have memories of me that I do not have of them? Does that sum it up?

So far as I can tell there has been no break in my life at home, so presumably, your thoughts that things at home continue as normal would be likely.

You said we didn't communicate much, but you remember me. Are you a Wiz

Yes, that is correct. I'd be prepared for people talking to you that you may not know.

I'd give you examples from my home but I'm at a disadvantage because I'm from further before those of my world. I know that I eventually must go back to my place in time because my son is here and I was originally over a hundred years from before he was born. That [...] I am aware isn't normal for most universes. And I know I don't remember these events once I go back there because my future self is also here and he had no recollection of any of this.

Yes. You are Mr. Snape.

Please tell me I do not have a son or an alternate self here, because that would take this to a level I am not prepared to deal with tonight.

That would be accurate, yes.

Not to my knowledge, but I avoided interacting with you or people from your world for a very long time. I don't recall any other individuals with the Snape surname, however, so I think we can say you are safe.

There is at least some explanation that does not increase my head-ache after all.

What can you tell me about this ship?

What types of things, specifically, do you want to know about the ship?

We've been on the Ship for nearly two months and have been to two ports of Harbor. The other was Atlantis. We [...] the collective community, that is, were on a similar excursion last year but it was a space ship. We called it the space cruise. It was [...] disastrous. And because of it, there are a lot of community led efforts for safety. We have patrols, evacuation plans, and hypothetical battle plans.

Atlantis as in the lost city of? Fascinating.

When you say space cruise, I can only presume you mean a cruise in a spaceship?

Correct on both accounts.

I feel as if I ought to have been making a list of 'impossible things that you are just accepting as fact', so that I could refer to it later on.

Are these robots they have wandering around?
