Hypothetical question. If someone wanted to speak to someone about issues, where would they go? Is there like a professional or a ~~head~~ doctor? Not like physical issues, the other kind.

Therapists usually have a specialty, like addiction, anger management, abuse, personality disorders, LGBT issues, children, whatever area they focused on in training and have the most experience with. I help people work through the aftermath and consequences of traumatic experiences, understand why they react to things the way they do and help them find better ways to deal with their feelings.

Sometimes it helps to vent. To know that there are people out there dealing with similar shit to you. I'm in AA and NA myself. Just having somewhere to go for a bit where you can feel like people aren't judging is... a relief, actually.

But hey, groups aren't for you. Doesn't seem like the professional way is right either. Maybe you just need a friend.
