It's certainly not been a usual festive period, but change isn't all bad.

JESSE

I don't know if you have plans, but how do you feel about Christmas dinner the night after Christmas?

SHERLOCK (elementary)
I see Clyde has a friend. Of the female variety. Are we taking up breeding or is this a new experiment in socialisation?

SINGULARITY
Did you get the gift I left for you?

That is likely. Perhaps we should first go to the pet shop. I'd like to experiment with them in close quarters versus a greater space.

That sounds like an idea. At the very least, we'll have a time-out pen for them. We need food anyway and they should get some treats, maybe some strawberries if anywhere has them.

Excellent. You are, as always, well on top of their care.

Clyde is lucky you've arrived. I was rather close to making soup of him.

I'll stay on top of their care, you can dress them up as props.

I don't believe that for even a second. You asked a magical fictional man you don't believe in to bring Clyde a friend.

A fair trade.

As backup, Watson.

Yes, the alternative would be buying a friend for him.

In the event Santa Claus would not deliver, then perhaps that could very well have been an alternative.

Lucky Clyde, Santa pulled through and you didn’t have a craving for soup.

Indeed, it was a Christmas miracle for him.

Speaking of Christmas miracles, I’ve invited Jesse for a Christmas dinner tonight. Trimmings and all. Might as well get into the spirit of it.

Even though the holiday has obviously reached its annual end?

Yes, despite that I thought it’d be nice to have him over for a proper meal.

Did you tell him to? Either way, we’re having a meal tonight. A proper one. Not Chinese.

Perhaps I haven't. I'd just as well assumed he'd make himself at home. He's welcome here nonetheless. We could suggest it at dinner where we are not having Chinese for it.
