On Friday, I commented on a young lady's network post and heartlessly called her an 'idiot'. I sincerely apologize for my action. I allowed my temper to get the better of me, and promise to be more vigilant about what I write.

However, I stand by my concern for the Displaced underage youth. I understand they are required to have guardians when they arrive. How much supervision are they given? Tumblewood is turbulent and dangerous, and while I understand some of the youth have powers and may even be able to defend themselves, they are still children.

	I know certain youths, like my son who had his other mother here before I got here, have parents and guardians that have come along for the ride. And some are old enough in their own worlds to be considered adults. What exactly are you asking and/or proposing? 	Usually they live in the same place as their guardian and beyond that it depends on the kid. 17 year olds who've been pretty independent before aren't going to need as much looking after as 12-14 year olds used to having parents. (Reply to this)

Diana Prince has brought up this subject before and you may wish to discuss it with her. The issue is who takes responsibility for children here and who is willing and able to oversee that. Typically the responsibility falls on someone who is from a similar universe or who knows the child or parent if no parent is available, but there is no policing of this or guarantee that the person who is taking in a child should be allowed to.

Generally the two big checks for foster parents are the criminal background check and the home study, which is really just checking that they aren't living in complete squalor and they're financially stable. Criminal record's kinda hard to check when people come from different universes and they don't even always match what the book or movie or whatever they come from says, and we've mostly been giving people blank slates when they turn up anyway.

Thank you for your information.

The first thought that comes to mind is creating a committee of adults to help with this subject, a self governing body among the Displaced, to help assign guardians and keep up with any problems that may arise.

It's something that really needs to be worked on with a number of people if'n they're letting there kids get involved in things they shouldn't and then not giving them consequences for their behavior.

It depends on the age of the underage person, I think. Toddlers need a lot more personal supervision than a teenager.

That said, yes, there are consequences. And I'm pretty sure we're all going to find those out.

Yes, of course. But teenagers don't always have the same reasoning capacity, nor the worldly experience to make sound decisions as adults. Granted, there are adults that also fall into the same category, but those are not the ones who we should consider for guardianship, at least in our particular circumstance.

I'd rather not find out the hard way.

I'd be the first to admit I'd make a horrible mother. My concern takes on a broader view, of which children are a part.

My concern initially stems from how a young lady had in her possession a Mogwai, and after various warnings on the Network, did not pay attention to the creature in her care. She had Halloween candy out, and the Mogwai was not being supervised during the danger period when you weren't supposed to feed them. She endangered herself, she endangered the town. There were plenty of adult figures who stepped up to her defense and to help find the Mogwai, but my point is- where was the guardian of this 16 year old? Why hadn't they made sure she was taking care of the creature like she was supposed to? I understand that a guardian isn't omnipresent or omnipotent, and can't control or watch their ward at all times, however, in this particular instance, a Mogwai isn't a pet puppy that gets lost. Under the wrong circumstances, it's a time bomb ready to wreak havoc.
