There were many ways that one could attempt to outwit the "undead", by taking a lesson from various cartoons and made-for-T.V.movies:
a.) Lure them off of a cliff with a five dollar bill.
b.) Push them off of a bridge after having them sign you over as their sole beneficiary.
c.) Vigorously brandish an invisible ball to get them excited, and then toss it beyond their field of vision.
d.) Use a potted plant to obscure yourself as you scuttle to safety.
