Lexi, if she was honest, was completely exhausted. Since returning from their vacation under the sun she'd been doing her best to balance a variety of things. First of all, Adrian had suggested a long standing project in Moscow which would require her presence on sight for several weeks. She'd spent some time worrying over it, but had ultimately chosen to allow the project to go to another. A lot of it had to do with Clint's, but it wasn't entirely Clint that kept her close to home. A few days previously she'd been approached by two members of the DMLE who happened to be asking questions concerning the possible whereabouts of her supposedly dead father, which, as you could imagine, had left her feeling more then a little jittery. On top of that, she hadn't even told Clint or the other two about it. They all had their own busy lives to lead and she didn't want them distracted by something that could possibly be nothing but her own imagination.
Needless to say, by the time she had returned home that day she'd been more then ready to just curl up in bed. She'd just managed to get her pajamas on when Clint stepped out of the fireplace and announced his intentions for the night; a date. She blinked at him for a moment, considering whether or not she'd somehow fallen asleep and was currently having a bizarre dream. They'd been together for over two months now and they hadn't actually gone on a proper date. Hell, she hadn't even been expecting them to. After ensuring that she was not, in fact, sleeping she sighed and went back to her room to pull on a random outfit that Emma had picked out. She couldn't remember purchasing the dress but given the ridiculous price tag still on it, there could only be one culprit.
Returning a moment later, she dug out some shoes and slipped into them. "I'm really starting to miss simple things like running shoes and socks," she muttered dryly.
