Katie watched their interaction with wary amusement. Finishing off the bite of food she'd stolen from his plate, she watched her friend closely. She was agitated. She wasn't happy and she didn't look as though she'd be pleased if they just admitted they were dating. Which, they were not. Of course, the exchange between Marcus and Lexi was... not unexpected. Katie was thoughtful for a moment as she took a moment to consider her words. "Look, Lexi," she said, straightening up. "We really aren't dating. There is zero expectation between us. None. Aside from that... it's convenient. It's better than yelling and fighting all the time. Especially as we have a team to run. So... this is our outlet. However weird and strange it is... it's working and when Nationals are over, we'll go back to hating each other."
Sighing, Katie glanced at Marcus and then back to her friend. "You lot have known each other for ages and while I might know Marcus, Warrington or Pucey on the same level you do... I do know them. Just as they know me. I know their play styles. I know which way they're likely to feint and Marcus? I probably know him the best and that's possibly the reason why we bicker as much as we do. It's just... been that way. So we just..." Katie ran a hand through her hair, trying to explain it. "Found out how to make it work so we could win a World Cup." She shrugged. "We're not dating. And why is it so important to you that we define what this is?"
Clint listened, sort of understanding where Bell was coming from. As much as he hated it. She had a point. She knew them through Quidditch and that was pretty telling but their new direction? Whatever it was they were channeling? There wasn't really affection between them. Not really. Even here, aside from eating off each other's plates... which, could just be because Bell was a bloody pig...
"It's a Ravenclaw thing," he said, idly rubbing her back. "She needs to know everything and let's be honest. You two... it's weird. It throws us off a little."
Katie sighed and rubbed her temples. "Okay. I can get that. Look," she said, glancing at all three. "I don't want this to become some big thing so we'll just... go back to the way things were and I promise you won't see me with him again. Unless it's Quidditch related." God forbid she cause his friends to lose their shite. Course, she tried not to think about how not seeing or being with Marcus might be... well, she didn't want to think about it. It was just sex.
Clint shrugged. He was fine with that. In fact, the less Bell in his life, the better."
