► Mod Notes ► find_a_partner, find_a_player, find_players, gamesearch - these are amazing communities where you can go and post requests for characters, or directly recruit people for this game. We'd like to ask each one of you to go to those comms and either post an add yourself, or scour the ads for characters you want or you think our game could use. Everyone here has someone else they'd like to play with, so let's all work together and make that happen! ► If you're looking to pick up a new character, we've streamlined the application a bit. ► We've added four new playable Death Eaters to the character page, all available right now. Much like Rosier, they've assumed the identities of their victims and have been living among us since the end of the war. youknowyouwantto ► Any other plot ideas or events? We're not requiring you to come up with one, but if you have any, we'd love to hear them! ► Character Gains/Losses In the last half of July, we gained three new characters! Natasha added Please type your username into the box below, then press "Friends Button." Remember to do it for each of your characters. You have to be logged into a journal to use it for that particular journal. A note about requirements. From here on out, if you have an 'X' next to your name at the end-of-the-month check, you MUST meet monthly requirements at the next end-of-the-month check, or your character will be removed from the game. Tag your posts! Also, this is the last month we'll be counting unanswered threads. If you're not getting responses, e-mail another player and try to set something up. If nothing else, the mods have 8 characters between us and we guarantee we can find something for one of them to do with your character. We'd also like to see characters branch out and meet new people. Try threading with someone you haven't interacted with much before. ► Ongoing Events The ban on new Apparation licences is still in effect, with no end date in sight. ► Upcoming Events Open Quidditch Tryouts will be held the 4th - 6th. Current players will not have to try out; they'll be evaluated on last season's performance. Reserve players, recent Hogwarts graduates who played for a House team their last year and former professional players who left for any reason will have to try out. The full rosters and match schedules will be made available to the public on the 8th. Players will know before the rosters are released whether or not they made a team. PAY ATTENTION! THIS IS A BIG DEAL! Okay, people. So Alecto Carrow will quietly die in Azkaban on the 13th. She had been behaving suspiciously prior to her death, so an autopsy is performed and during the examination of the body, it's revealed that the person they thought was Alecto Carrow was actually a muggle. Inmates are questioned and one reveals that shortly after entering Azkaban, Alecto received letters from someone she referred to as Amycus. The inmate confesses to agreeing to change places with Alecto to allow Alecto to have what was supposed to be a conjugal visit, and says that the "suspicious behaviour" began immediately after that. Eventually, the investigation points to a guard, Joshua Taylor, who was taking bribes and smuggling contraband items into the prison. On the 16th, a team of Hit Wizards is sent to take him into custody, but at his residence they find him dead and are confronted by several people, who engage them in a fight. Among the Hit Wizards killed that day were Ryan and Sarah McLaggen. A surviving Hit Witch says there were at least four people fighting against them, and also claims to have heard a voice shout "Macnair" but is unable to provide any further clues as to the identities of those involved. The Department of Magical Law Enforcement tries to keep the details quiet but rumours quickly spread and by the end of the day, people are speculating that there are an unknown number of Death Eaters who have been living among them since the war and panic ensues. Within 24 hours, the Auror Office is flooded with letters from people with "tips" about other possible Death Eaters and a dozen people are attacked by people who suspect they aren't who they say they are. On the 19th, a group of drunk teenagers out in London get into a fight with muggles over their "weird" behaviour and clothing. Police break up the fight, but the witches and wizards then attack the police with "harmless" spells that leads to an emergency trip to St. Mungo's and several Obliviations. After being reported missing, Aurors enter Ian Urquhart's home on the 26th only to find him dead, due to an apparent suicide. Although nothing official is stated beyond the cause of death and there are no leaks from inside the department, it does not go unnoticed that Aurors remain at the scene for several more days than would be considered usual for a suicide. On the 29th, ONE OF YOU will go to the Notting Hill carnival. You'll be caught doing magic for some reason and a muggle will try to grab your wand, leading to a fight and a larger magical event. You'll be arrested by the muggle police before being handed over to the Ministry. A video of you holding a wand will be posted on the internet. We'd like each of you to comment and tell us whether or not you'd like to volunteer as the 'yes I read this' check. Morag MacDougal's murder will be officially solved on the 31st. Aurors will determine that Morag had been keeping Christian Iles prisoner in a previously unknown room they found in her home after Ian's death. In that room they also found several disturbing torture implements and blood from at least three unidentified people, assumed to be muggles. An examination of the wand in Ian's possession at the time of his death indicates that he used spells to both erase a memory and to inflict some sort of slicing injury. |
