Brian
There was a sign neatly taped to Brian's door. It said, simply:

<--
Tea, biscuits, heat pads and sympathy this way.

Beneath which was a comic-style sketch of a muddy Brian stumbling toward a pile of provisions. It was clear enough who had left the message, though Teddy hadn't signed his name.

"Um. No." His stupid crush on the straight boy was climbing into higher and scarier territory quicker than he could adjust to. "It's just me."

"That's uncanny." Brian pulled back, shaking his head. "You could bottle your scent and sell it."

"Um, no. See, this is why you're the assistant and I'm the mad scientist."

Teddy laughed and nudged the plate of cookies toward him again. "That is very true."

Brian took another, tipping his head in thanks. "Also, be prepared to carry my bruised body back to my room. Assistant's duties, you see."

"It won't be a problem; I'm stronger than I look. You'll have to handle the loofah on your own, though."

He lifted the cookie to his mouth. "Oh, but you'll be helping me undress?" He bit, eyebrow lifting flirtatiously.

"I'll do no such thing! You might drop me." He grinned slowly, leaning forward a little. "And I'll need your eyes to make sure none of my bruises look extra nasty."

Teddy was unexpectedly upset by this. He shook his head, warring with his own near-violent reaction. "You're not," he said. "You're just acerbic. And-- And hurt, and I don't know why, but I can tell you are. And I probably shouldn't have said that, but you're not a prick."
