Museum
[OOC note: for Alice and Ianto; time period undecided as of yet]

The school term has ended, and with kids home from school comes needing to keep them entertained. Some parents find that tedious, but it's a relief for Alice to watch Steven herself. They've gone to the museum for the day; Steven pleaded to see the fossils again. Crazy about dinosaurs, that boy. If he knew about her father's pterodactyl...

That's not going to happen, of course, though on the subject of her father, he'd hinted to her in a phonecall that the museum's collection of vintage photography might just contain some shots of him. Studying the pictures is like a more interesting and slightly unnerving "Where's Wally?" She's trying to decide if a background figure is actually her father when she realizes that Steven has wandered off instead of staying at her side.

Silently cursing herself for focusing so much on the display instead of her son, Alice goes jogging through the museum rooms to look for him. She can hear the echoing of him calling hellos to someone.

"Yeah, vegetables. Lettuce, tomato, onion...and some mayonnaise." He nods. "I think so, too."

"Ohhh, okay. That's a grown-up burger. Mine's cheesy!"

He furrows his brow and considers. "Does that mean she's Aunt Morgan?"

"Mmmm, cheese is good. Just didn't feel like it today."

"I don't know. Maybe you should wait and decide until after you meet her. You didn't call me Uncle Ianto until after you got to know me." He hasn't told Morgan about Alice and Steven yet, not going to without Alice's permission.

"You got to feel like cheese!"

Steven's giving that more consideration when Alice speaks up. "Usually you don't call your uncle's spouse's sister your 'aunt'. You're not really related at all."

Steven gives her a 'duuuh' look. "We're not related-related to Ianto, Mum! He's still family anyway, right?"

Can't argue that.

"Mmmhmm, you certainly do!"

"Right! Family is what you make of it. You can call her "aunt" if you feel like it, and she wants it. See how it goes."

Alice looks mindblown at the idea of that sort of meeting; isn't it a bit complicated enough as it is? She relaxes her expression, though, so Steven won't get worried or upset over it.

He looks over at Alice, then back to Steven. "It'll be awhile before she's back, though, so you'll have time to think about it." Whether she even wants to meet her, for Alice, and what to call her, for Steven.

She gives Ianto a quick, grateful smile for letting them dodge the topic for now. It needs serious thought. "Ianto, there aren't any dinosaurs left in Africa, are there?"

"Hmmm...I don't think so...But some people think there might still be some kind of prehistoric world left in Africa, where nothing's changed for millions of years."

"I think I might, yeah. I have The Lost World, by Arthur Conan Doyle, although that's in South America, not Africa."
