Museum
[OOC note: for Alice and Ianto; time period undecided as of yet]

The school term has ended, and with kids home from school comes needing to keep them entertained. Some parents find that tedious, but it's a relief for Alice to watch Steven herself. They've gone to the museum for the day; Steven pleaded to see the fossils again. Crazy about dinosaurs, that boy. If he knew about her father's pterodactyl...

That's not going to happen, of course, though on the subject of her father, he'd hinted to her in a phonecall that the museum's collection of vintage photography might just contain some shots of him. Studying the pictures is like a more interesting and slightly unnerving "Where's Wally?" She's trying to decide if a background figure is actually her father when she realizes that Steven has wandered off instead of staying at her side.

Silently cursing herself for focusing so much on the display instead of her son, Alice goes jogging through the museum rooms to look for him. She can hear the echoing of him calling hellos to someone.

Jack has decided to do his own brand of Cardiff sightseeing, and since that involved being up high on windy rooftops, Ianto has declined to join him. He decides to head to the museum instead, to check out some of the new exhibits. Of course, it's always nice to remember coming here with Jack, too. And with Alice and Steven, that had been a great day.

Speaking of Steven...Ianto spies a familiar form out of the corner of his eye. He turns, making sure it really is Steven, before giving him a wave. "Hey there, Turbo!"

	She rounds a corner and sees Steven barreling over to latch onto someone's leg, and soon recognizes whose leg that is. She slows up her jog to walk up to them. "Steven, what've I told you about running off without asking?" "But photos are boring!" He looks up at Ianto, very excited. "Hi! Can we look at dinosaur stuff, can we?" Steven holds on tighter to discourage trying that.

It's been some months for her since they went to the museum together, but from what her father's told her, it's been much longer for him and Ianto. Time travel and all that, give her a headache if she tries to add it up, so she doesn't worry about the details. She has to wonder what it's like for Ianto, though-- usually people don't see a kid for awhile and think they've shot up inches since the last time, but maybe for Ianto it'll seem like Steven's growth is stunted. Then again, large limpet.

	Steven helpfully doesn't wiggle and holds on to Ianto. He laughs with the oof. Alice is briefly concerned by it before she catches on that it's for Steven's benefit, the whole make-him-feel-big thing. She smiles slightly to Ianto. "Here by yourself?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Steven beams and enjoys his new higher vantage point-- doesn't matter if there's anything to look at, just that he gets to be "tall" now. "You're not here for work, I hope." She shakes her head. 	She certainly won't push him to keep at it, knowing from experience how carrying a kid for too long can hurt later. At least Steven isn't squirming. "Ahh, of course. We haven't been so busy." "Do you have a separate day off, or doing different things...?" Since she doesn't come over to Cardiff often, she has little occasion to run into either of them, but she imagines they spend a lot of their time together-- especially with work making it necessary.

Steven laughs with the nickname, and holds on until Ianto can get him back on the floor. "Yep! We have a big yard and I've got a playset and sometimes Mum lets me help with the plants. We put in a tree! It's little!"

	Considering the horrible things Ianto has to face in his job, she's surprised he's scared of something as mundane as heights. Then again, fears don't always make some kind of sense.
