The Arrival of the Doctor's Daughter
Jenny runs down the corridor of the large temple, and then around the corner. She presses her back up against the wall, catching her breath before shouting, "Hey, I was just trying to help!" She winces at the sound of approaching gunfire.

Apparently, they don't want her help. Never did, really.

Jenny had arrived on the planet only hours ago, her shuttle in need of refueling. Moments after getting out of her shuttle, she had literally run into a group of Malinaks. Malinaks are tall, thin, blue creatures with two bulging green eyes and eight tentacles that line the tops of their heads. They speak a sort of broken English, an English that is combined with another language she doesn't know so that she literally understands only every other word.

But she had very quickly realized that they were panicked. And it had something to do with a glowing crystal, some sort of religious artifact that was out of reach for the Malinaks. Well, this is what exploring is all about for Jenny! Exploring new planets, meeting new races, and helping out where she can. So she asked where this crystal was supposed to be, and they lead her straight to it. It was in the back of these black caves, stuck up in a high spot, but not unreachable. To be honest, she hadn't been able to understand why the Malinaks couldn't just retrieve it themselves. Or why they had seemed so worried, shouting warnings, as she nimbly climbed the cave wall and picked the crystal up.

Jenny shakes her head at the thought now, muttering to herself, "Religious artifact." Which is only apparently allowed to be touched by the head of the Malinak clan, who happens to be missing. Which is why the Malinaks had been so worried---they didn't know who would be able to retrieve it for their daily prayers. She mutters again, "Oh, yes, I know all that now. Fat lot of good it does me, I've already committed sacrilege."

The footsteps and the gunfire are getting closer and closer. Jenny scans the corridor for anything, any way out, but apparently she's hit a dead end. And then she looks up. Jenny can't help but grin. She jumps up, grabbing onto a metal bar, wrapping her arms and legs around it. She waits for the Malinaks to pass her, to walk right beneath her.

But they never come. Because soon Jenny is falling, hard and fast, but she can't remember ever letting go of the bar. And, in one eye blink, she is slamming into the concrete in the middle of Cardiff.

Jenny can feel the man's guard go up a bit when she is introduced to him, not that she can blame him. Hard enough to meet someone new, let alone someone from a different planet and a different time. Even if it is a part of his very unique job description.

She grins, "Hello. And yeah, my landing was a bit rough. I don't normally walk around with a bloodied face. Then again, I don't normally find myself fall through rifts in time and space either." She says the last part with a knowing glance at the man, as if to say 'it's all right, I know about Cardiff's secret.'

	He finds Jenny's open frankness rather unnerving, especially considering his own rather reserved nature, especially around strangers. "Would you like to get cleaned up?" He's always polite, though. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Jenny shakes her head at the man, "No worries. It can wait. But thank you for the offer." She then listens as Alice starts to explain everything, nodding, "That's right. I heard this was the place to go for help. That maybe you could help me figure everything out. Help me find a way back." After a bit of exploring, of course. Earth sounds like quite an interesting planet.

Well, it's not like he's not used to people covered in blood. And she's hardly covered, actually. Somewhere in the back of his mind he's wondering why the Rift monitors didn't alert them. "Heard where was the place to go?" Earth? Cardiff? The Hub? He shakes his head at himself a bit for having forgotten his manners. "Well, no need to stand around outside. Come in."

	"Ianto," Jenny echoes, cocking her head to the side as she thinks the name over. "I like it," she decides, grinning. "It suits you." She's quite fond of names. They often reveal more about a person than they realize. "Jack's the one who's your relative, right?" She shifts her gaze from Alice back to Ianto, "He sounds fascinating. I can't wait to meet him." Jenny sees Ianto's grin, and her own gets even bigger (if that's possible). She doesn't need Alice to explain, she can see the twinkle in his eyes, can see what he finds so fascinating about Jack. It's adorable.

After Ianto explains that he and Jack are married, she says, "Congratulations!" and then asks Alice, "How exactly are you and Jack related? Cousins? Siblings?"

Considering that she's older than Ianto, any traditional type of in-law thing... "Let's pass on being in-laws. And I'd rather not get into specifics on that, Jenny. But I'm sure you'll get some help here, at least some answers."

It's been years since she came into the Hub through this entrance, and it's not as if she's often been here to begin with, just a couple of visits for Jack to show her what was what and who was who in case she ever needed to hide out with Steven somewhere more secure than their own home. Some of the signs are different, and odd, rather retro in styling and with silly warnings. "Who decorated this?"
