Log;
Moving day. Suzanna stood, surrounded by boxes and teary-eyed parents, at the gates of everything new. She'd already said goodbye to her friends - ruffled hair, hugs and tears as they realised they weren't finishing school together. That one final night where they were all still attending the same school was locked safely away in her memory and on memory cards stowed in electronic frames that flicked through pictures in slideshow. At the bottom of a box of "extras" a little package full of the hard copy photos from her childhood and parents - her mum would always (complain when Suzanna said mom) say that no technology beats holding a photo of your best days.
They say one last goodbye with hugs and the usual lectures loving parents give - behave yourself, don't get expelled, avoid sneaking alcohol on campus - and Suzanna grabs a box of clothes, looking at the junk surrounding her. Did she really need all of this? Did she really have this much stuff? It doesn't look like that much when it's buried in closets and spaced out in her room at home. Her dad's hands tighten around her laptop bag protectively - that's the last thing that's coming in, she doesn't want to leave it alone with a stranger yet.
She takes her first step into the new academy... and immediately dumps the box in favour of pulling out her phone and slipping in an earphone while she starts tapping on her touchscreen.
Two seconds later, the corridors fill with some less-than-in-tune singing while Suzanna picks her box up, the beats flowing through her body as she heads to her new room.
