Who: Tony, Pepper and baby Matt
What: Putting up Christmas decorations and stuff

Pepper had been lucky. Her parents had decided they needed to go off for a weekend just by themselves to see if they could patch things up. It meant that Pepper was going to have to watch her baby brother Matt the entire time but she didn't mind mostly for one reason. She'd called Tony later on, telling him that her parents were leaving, and he suggested that they both stay the weekend with him. That was music to her ears.

After the week was up, her parents packed up their things and kissed their children goodbye and headed off into the sunset. She waited an hour before she called Tony to tell him they were coming over. She got Matt's things all together for the weekend and her own and then put him into the car and drove over to Tony's.

When they arrived, Jarvis would have had to let them in, because the owner of the home was currently disposed of at the moment. More like tangled up in a jumble of Christmas tree lights trying to get them loose. "Fucking..." came the grumbling from the living area where a real tree had been bought and set up, still bare of decorations as Tony stood there with lights draped over his limbs as he tried to work them free.

Jarvis alerted him to their presence, which made Tony smile. He'd been setting all this up so they could have a good Christmas together.

Being let inside, she was surprised that Tony wasn't there to greet them. It meant that he was distracted by something. She set Matthew down on the ground and he took off down the hallway for the living room. "Geeze slow down.." she called, trailing after him carrying the rest of their things. At least he knew better then to go eating things or playing with things he shouldn't.

" 'Ook Peppy! 'ights!" Matthew called getting there before her. She came around the corner and saw Tony stuck underneath all the lights which made her snort with laughter. "Stuck?" she asked. Even Matthew giggled.

"Hey!" he said cheerily as he turned around to see his audience. Though he was kind of embarrassed that the lights were kicking his ass. "A little, yeah," he said with narrowed eyes and a small look of conceded defeat on his face.

Slowly, he started plucking at the wires hanging off him and freeing himself so he could at least greet his guests. Dropping the lights in a pile on the floor, he stepped over them and walked to Matthew, whom he gathered up in his arms and hoisted in the air. "Hey, little guy, did you go to see Santa yet?" Then walked over to Pepper and kissed her on the cheek. "Hey to you, too."

Though she was going to come over to help him, she let him wiggle out of the lights on his own. Matthew squealed a bit as he got lifted up into the air, quite happy to be. "Uh huh!" he said happily, nodding his head. "I gots a picture. Peppy broughts it.." he told him happily.

Pepper just smiled a bit and kissed his in return. "Hiya.. you need some help with that?" she pointed to the lights and went over to them. She sat down cross legged to see if she could untangle things.

"She did? She'll have to show me. What did you ask Santa to bring you?" Whatever Matt said was probably what Tony would buy for him for Christmas to open at his house because Tony would do that. Tony looked genuinely happy to see the pair of them. He loved it when they stayed at the house, mainly because Matt was so adorable to watch play. He'd grown to like the little boy a lot.

"Yeah, I'll get them done eventually. I got us a tree, well, this would be the first time a tree has been in this house since I was a kid."

Matt was very happy to tell him everything he wanted for Christmas. He started going on about this toy he wanted or that toy. And thankfully he was oblivious enough to know that Tony wouldn't get him everything he wanted and use it to exploit him. "He said he try bring me pressies.." he said after a moment. The list was probably a mile long.

"I see.. it's very nice. Really? You never got a tree? I guess I'm not surprised and.. there.." she flicked the switch and the lights went on. They seemed to all be working so she started to wrap them around the tree. "I've done this a lot."

"Not since Mom and Dad died. There just wasn't anyone to celebrate with. It was just me and the help." Tony didn't talk much about his childhood, and even then, after his parents died, he was going to college and focused on his studies and degrees. "We'll see. Santa will probably be really good to you this year since you've had a pretty weird year." Though the kid probably didn't know his dad had run off or all that.

Tony looked slightly annoyed. "How in the hell did you pull that off and they tried to eat me? I can build a flying suit of armor but I can't untangle lights."

Well she certainly didn't want him to have to talk about it either. So she just nodded and continued to string the lights all around the tree, making sure they were spaced apart. Matthew seemed to be ignoring things though except for presents. "I hopes so I loves Santa I gonna make him lotsa cookies." He was obviously really excited about that part.

Her shoulders shrugged a bit at Tony and she smiled. "Well this isn't technology, it's just untangling things. Who do you thing has to get his hair out of knots when he goes and gets it stuck on a lollipop or something."

"You don't have to string them up, I'll do it." He'd even gone out to buy loads of ornaments. He didn't know what kind he wanted or they would want, so he filled the cart so they all could choose what they wanted for decorating. "Maybe I can get Santa to stop by here, too, and leave you a present or two. You know Santa's a personal friend of mine." Telling Matt something like that would probably make him happy and make the kid crawl all over him, not that he didn't do that as it were. Tony had him hoisted up high on his hip. "So you're going to stay with me this weekend? Guess this means a playground trip and other fun stuff."

Then Tony stuck his tongue out at Pepper, "It's still a string of wired lights. It's not that hard to untangle them. Well, it shouldn't be."

"If you want to help you have to either use him to help me or put him down I think," she watched the two of them and smiled a bit. They were very cute. In lots of ways she wished that Tony was his father even though that was just a little more then weird and would make the whole thing with them weird and.. semi related. Matt grinned at Tony, "Really? Santa come too places I get two pressies?" he looked very excited for that.

"Uh huh we's gonna stay the whole weekend." That was the best thing ever. He really liked staying there. Just maybe not as much as Pepper. "Can we play playstation?" He couldn't say pepper but he could say playstation.

Pepper grinned, "Looks like it though." She was just about done putting the lights up and then plugged them in again. "Ta-da."

Tony kind of frowned because he didn't really want to put Matt down, but he supposed he'd have to to help Pepper. "Okay, okay," he said and reluctantly put Matt down on his feet. Then he crouched down to his level. "Mhmm, You might get more than two here. We'll see. I'll talk to Santa. He owes me a favor or two." And Tony winked at Pepper because she knew Tony was just talking up this whole thing to Matt.

"Let's go get your playstation on so you can play and I can help your sister with the tree, okay?" And he stood up and ushered Matt over to the plasma screen television. Tony went about switching over the AV connections and messed around with everything and put the controller in Matt's hands and popped in the Kung Fu Panda game for him. He figured he'd like playing that at least.

"We're going to be over here, okay buddy?" and the little boy nodded his head and started his game up.

It was cute the way he was frowning because he didn't want to put Matthew down. Very cute. Matt just looked super excited, "More then two??!" yeah he was a little excited about Christmas for real. Pepper smiled at him and winked back. Matt took the controller and began to play totally oblivious to his sister and Tony's whereabouts and anything else. He was totally ignoring them for Panda. "Uh huh.." was all he muttered.

Since she'd got the lights up, she went to go find the rest of the decorations. "What did you buy? Cheesy ornaments and lots of balls?" she teased, sticking out her tongue a little.

He just shook his head at Matthew, laughing to himself as he walked over to where Pepper and the tree were. "No, smartass. When have I ever bought something cheap and cheesy?" He went and grabbed several bags from various stores. Inside were all kinds of ornaments from one of every kind that Hallmark carried to ones with cartoon characters and glass ones. "I tried to get stuff Matt would like," he said and pulled out a box from Hallmark. Inside was a little Phantom of the Opera with Christine in his gondola that played "Music of the Night" and moved. "Huh. That's cool, see?" and held it out to her to hang on the tree. "See? Not crap."
