Who: Rachel and Ty
Where: Ty's apartment
What: Sharing the news
When: After the texts
Rating: Better make it high for language or something
Open: Only to Anders or Shepard if they happen to stop by
Status: Ongoing
Once again Rachel was nervous. She’d been spending a lot of time nervous lately. She waited the thirty minutes that Ty asked and then made her way to his apartment. She wore her usual t-shirt and jeans, her usual attire but left her hair down. Rachel took a deep breath and let it out slowly before she knocked on Ty’s door. This was not going to be easy.

She nodded. "That's because he's a genuinely good man." She cleared her throat. That, of course, just increased the chances that Ty wasn't the father. Because he would be there for everything.

"As soon as I find out anything, I'll let you know."

Ty looked back and forth between the two of them. Did his girlfriend and what might be the mother of his child just bond over what type of man he was? And that right in front of him? He wasn't sure how to react to it and so he simply jumped the reaction, happy that Rachel had added something else. "Ta," he said and smiled at her.

Shepard didn't see much reason to make the girl stand there and repeat things she'd already said, so she nodded simply. Stepping over to the door she opened it for Rachel. "Just don't stress. The knowledge will come when it comes. There's no sense in freaking out over it before hand." At least they knew that Ty was a possibility. The Anders bridge would be crossed when it happened.

"I just...really hate not knowing." She sighed. "Thanks for the tea." She cleared her throat. "I'll see you later, I guess."

Ty frowned a little bit. She couldn't hate it that much if she hadn't pulled all the strings yet. Was she simply afraid to find out and hid behind what Doctor Banner had said? It didn't matter as long as they found out. He hoped it wouldn't be him. As mean as it was, he sincerely hoped that. For the kid, he was probably the best option but this wasn't how he wanted to have a family. If he were to have a family now, he wanted it to be with the woman he loved. "Yes. Thank you," he said with a hint of a smile and opened the door for Rachel. "We'll figure things out when we know more."

"It was nice meeting you, Rachel." Shepard gave a slight nod. What else could be said? She could only hope for the best. She stepped up behind Ty. Lightly brushing her fingers against the lower part of his back.

"Nice meeting you, too." She nodded, then turned to head out the door. She needed to see if there were other ways to find out.

"See you," Ty said and closed the door behind Rachel when she was gone. He turned to Shepard afterwards, anxious about her reaction now that they were alone. "Sorry about that." Sorry that she had to be a part of it. He wanted something normal for them both. They both deserved it.

"Hey, don't worry about it. I didn't exactly expect you to be abstinent before we met." Shepard took his face in her hands and dropped a light brief kiss onto his lips. "I wasn't. And besides, I can understand why she'd want you to father one." She teased with a slight wiggle of her eyebrows.

Ty's eyebrows raised and a smile appeared on his lips. "You are quite amazing. Has anyone told ever told you this?" he asked. He couldn't believe how lucky he was. At least, when it came to her.

Shepard pursed her lips, in attempt not to grin, glancing upward as she appeared to think about it. "You know, I don't think they have." She teased lightly. She let her arms settle over his shoulders as she placed a little kiss on his nose.

"Hmm," he purred softly, his own arms wrapping around her waist. "And you are okay with this?" He wasn't sure if he was okay with it. But no one was. There was nothing they could do about it.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be? I mean I wasn't just trying to make her feel better when I said that stuff about fathering a kid." Not that she had, but it was possible. "We're lucky, the human race that is, not every race out there could always have children as we can. It's beautiful, the simplicity and complexity of it."

Ty was surprised by her attitude. She was so relaxed. He might be a god by nature but the way she was that made her a goddess in her very own way. "God, you are perfect," he mumbled.

Shepard chuckled softly. "I don't know about being perfect, I just think you like seeing me naked." She teased. Impish grin sticking around for a few seconds. At least until she sucked her lower lip between her teeth. "I.. just happen to love you, and it makes it easy to not sweat this." Even if she wouldn't have anyway.

There, right there were those three beautiful words which he had felt for a few weeks now but had not dared to say yet. "I love you too," he said immediately. It felt as natural as ice carving was to him. With her everything fit. She was just a beautiful and gorgeous person. Both her mind and body.

Shepard chuckled softly when he returned them without hesitation. And here she thought she'd been jumping the gun. "Say it again? A girl can never get enough of those three little words." Though she didn't give him much of a shot to repeat them, before she close distance and kissed him rather soundly.

Ty drew her closer. Following her request could wait for a bit, he needed to taste this wonderful mouth first. When he drew back, he smiled at her. "I love you. I do. So very much."

Shepard was over the moon. Several moons. "I love you too." It was a lot easier to say the second time around.
