Abigail had calmed down since her nightmare. She was able to sit on a park bench, looking calm and collected on the outside. On the inside she was still struggling emotionally, over what she had done and what she knew she would continue to do, to help Hannibal. She was trying to convince herself that it was necessary. She hoped Bedelia could help with that, their online chat had already been a start to feeling that her actions were justified.
She watched birds fly by and then a rabbit hopping past her on the ground. It made her think back to her early childhood, before her father forced her to hunt. That was a time when she would have seen those creatures as cute, instead of thinking of recipes. A time when she didn't measure the value of other living creatures in cold, practical terms. A part of her was changed and she would never be as innocent as she could pretend to be. She sighed and looked over at the path leading into the park, hoping to see Bedelia before she lost her composure.
