Rachel had known that something was going on the day before. Seddrinth had seemed a little antsy, but she was fine for the most part. There had been the announcement about the water rising but Rachel just figured that it was a storm coming and that's why Seddrinth was antsy because animals of all kinds had a way of sensing those kinds of things. This morning, though, all of that changed. Around three in the morning, Rachel sat up straight in bed, eyes darting around the room. Without a second thought, she got up and threw her robe on, heading outside. "Shit." She muttered, then she went into the barn. She knew that Seddrinth was freaking out before she even got in there. What is going on? What is this? "I don't know." Rachel went down and tried to sooth the dragon. Seddrinth was pacing the barn and kept flapping her wings. This is dark magic. It is not right. I must leave. She started to make her way out of the barn. "Seddrinth, please stay inside. You don't need to leave." She tried to reach out and pet the dragon. Seddrinth kept going, pushing her way out of the barn. As soon as she looked up, she let out a loud roar. This must be stopped! It must go away! Rachel managed to get a hand on her before she took off flying. "Seddrinth, if you go up there and try to get rid of this thing, it could drown us all. Please, stay in the barn, okay?" Her hands shook as she tried to pet the dragon's side. It must go away Her voice in Rachel's mind was softer, though. More like a child not getting its way. She wouldn't go back inside, though. She moved away a little bit more and flapped her wings. She raised up off the ground a little bit before landing again. She did not like this one bit. "Seddrinth, please come back inside." Rachel ran her fingers through her hair. She could feel how upset the dragon was and it was making her upset and she hated it. Hated all of this. I must fly. Can not stay inside, rider. She started to flap her wings again. "Seddrinth, don't. Please. You don't have to stay inside the barn but do not go flying. You could get hurt. Please." This was one of those times that Rachel wished her connection to Seddrinth was like Jake's connection to Banshee. When Banshee was told what to do, he usually did it without argument. Seddrinth took off, but just barely higher than the roof of the barn and the house. She kept flying in circles, though some were wider than others. I do not like it. It is not right. Rachel sighed. At least she wasn't getting out of sight and she wasn't going anywhere near the bubble. |
