Who: Darcy and Bruce and Everyone
What: Wedding!
Where: The park
When: Forward-dated to Friday, Feb. 14, mid-afternoon
Rating: variable depending on who's threading
Status: Open/Ongoing/Multiple threads encouraged

The wedding is casual but elegant and starts in the late afternoon, just about the same time a light snow flurry begins to fall, and is set up in the largest section of the park in two parts.

The first hosts the ceremony, outdoors, under one of the largest trees, with the altar set up among the branches in the same place Bruce found Jacob his first day on the island. Darcy as made sure there are plenty of blankets available for people to grab in case they start to get cold. The ceremony is short but sweet with Jacob as Bruce’s best man, Bucky as Darcy’s ‘Dude of Honor’, the five-year-old versions of Steve and Bucky escorting her down the aisle and Tony officiating. [Ceremony will be threaded below for more details]

The second area is under a large, see-through tent with wooden dance floor underneath to make sure everyone can move around easily. The tent is well heated with heaters that Izzy has fitted to make sure they give off no fumes, as well as a fireplace to one side with a chimney directing smoke direct out of the tent. Other than Darcy’s bouquet there are no flowers, instead the tables are all decorated with slices of old logs, twigs, pine cones, ferns and moss along with plenty of unscented candles along long, family-style tables with no seating chart. The ceiling was intricately decorated as well to add some extra lighting. And if anyone looked carefully they’d see all of the candle holders, light glasses at the reception and even the base of Darcy’s bouquet were all made from scientific glassware, mostly beakers and flasks, that she’d scrounged from Tony’s R+D departments to surprise Bruce.

The food is all comfort food made by Maryanne and served buffet style, including mostly soups and stews, gumbo, lots of potato dishes, roast meats and veggies and curries, as well as plenty of food for kids (and picky adults)-things like chicken fingers, plain mashed potatoes and gravy, grilled cheese, and pasta. The cake made by Sookie sits on a separate table surrounded by little personal pies made by Isabel, in case someone doesn’t like cake or wants dessert early. There would also be a make-your-own s’mores table near the fireplace and plenty of drinks around, including coffee, hot chocolate and hot spiced cider, all three available spiked for those so inclined, on top of the usual choices.

By halfway through the reception Darcy has bustled up her dress up to about her knees to keep it out of the way (revealing her shoes as well) and once everyone seemed done with the food, for their first course at least, they would have cut the cake (Darcy giving all the sugar flowers to the kids first and mushing the first bite in Bruce’s face) and done all of the other ‘traditional’ wedding things that they could stand. Bruce is wearing a suit and tie to his wedding, though halfway through the reception, his tie is loosened from Darcy tugging on it. Once things start to wind down Bruce and Darcy would head off in Maryanne’s monster truck so Darcy can surprise him with a week-long honeymoon in Rivendell, leaving the set up for anyone else to use until the end of that week.

"I see the science in everything. It's just the way my brain works." He smiled and kept dancing at whatever speed he chose rather than going with the music. "Like dancing, for example. Physics with a little bit of geometry thrown in. And I can see the math in the music." The smile never left his face. "Most people watch a bird flying by and marvel at the look of it. I automatically start plotting its trajectory, mapping the angle of the wings as they flap...." He chuckled. "There's science in everything."

"I may be the exact opposite. I see Music in everything. Like this, you think you're going against the grain, but in all actuality your steps are still with the beat of the music. And that is what matters. I was going to turn it into a career. And not one you'd expect either." Maryanne purred. Her slow accent dropping in octave. There was something in dancing with Tony that was.. fire.

"I'm just dancing to a slower version of the beat, that's all." He smiled. "I like slower. You get to appreciate your partner a bit more." He didn't even think about leaning in and kissing her neck softly. There was no way he could deny his feelings for her. And for her husband. It was strange and wonderful all at the same time.

Maryanne hummed in agreement. He was right. "Careful Mister Stark. You're laying in dangerous territory." She teased on a delicate purr. She did have fourteen days left. And it was easy to kick her labido into overdrive.

Maryanne chuckled softly. "It's alright, I just wasn't sure if you'd want me to drag you under one of these tables or not." She teased.

"In all honesty, right now I wouldn't mind so much." He cleared his throat, glancing over at AJ before back at Maryanne. "It's been a while."

"Oh, I remember. Bruce tried to keep me celibate, but I didn't last more than three weeks after. I shifted, and everything sorted itself out." Maryanne searched out Clint. "If they don't have a problem with it, you know I don't." She whispered, her voice husky. Which was entirely his fault.

"I know." Tony smiled a little before twirling her away and back again. "And I'm not going to lie and say I don't like the idea but.....I don't know if I could do that." He bit his lip. "With AJ there and participating is one thing but....just you and me? I'd have to talk to her about it." It honestly felt like he'd be cheating on her. And there was a part of his brain in complete shock that he actually cared about that.

"Yeah, I feel the same way. I know. It's hard to resist. With everything the way it is right now, but so far I've been a good girl." And she was rather proud of that. Considering she had been rather carelessly slutty before Clint. "You know we both love you, right? We'd do anything for you." She knew she could speak for her husband. Knew he felt the same way.

Tony nodded. "I know. And I love you guys." He smiled and kissed her cheek. "I never really thought I'd get to this point in my life, you know? Being happy all settled down and stuff." He chuckled. "AJ made all of it possible."

"Yeah, me either. I tried. I just didn't think it was in my cards." Her eyes found Clint's, and her smile lit up in her eyes. "That's what I said to him, when we decided to get married. That I didn't think I was allowed to have the American dream. That I had angered whatever god was behind that decision. That, that was why I was content to simply be the girlfriend, forever." Maryanne couldn't resist, she took her chance to dip him, with a chuckle. "And he wasn't having any of that."

Tony chuckled at the dip and shook his head, smiling genuinely at her. "Both of us did a lot of things that would end us up alone forever, and yet here we are. Married with families and crazy in love." He chuckled.

"Yep, and I have absolutely no desire to go home. Do you?" Though a visit wouldn't hurt. Raising up just enough she pressed a little kiss to his lips. The smile did her in. He had such a charmimg smile.

"As much as I miss Happy, I can definitely say I don't." He chuckled. He did miss his body guard turned friend, but his life was too good here to go back home for one person. "I like not having people trying to kill me every time I turn around, you know? Makes it easier to relax." And he knew that Maryanne was one of a few people on the island that would really understand that.

"Oh yeah, I don't miss that part one bit." To her nothing this place could ever throw at them could ever be as bad as what was going on at home. "I miss the sense of the south, if that makes sense. But that's it."

Tony nodded. "I miss Manhattan. Like, the feel of it. So I know exactly what you mean. And I kind of miss Malibu but only kind of." He chuckled. "Got a beach here to keep that from getting too out of control. But nothing anywhere near like Manhattan."

"I am a little surprised that we haven't seen your Malibu house built into the cliffs here. I mean that place screams Stark almost as much as your tower does." Whether he built it or the island just made it appear like it did everything else.

"I like the tower better anyway." He smiled. "And I'm not sure that AJ could handle the Malibu house. But there may or may not be a house out in the forest that I've been waiting to surprise her with." He bit his lip.

"Out in the forest?" Maryanne was a little surprised at this little fact. She glanced around to find AJ, to make sure they were out of ear shot. "Why are you waiting?"

"It's out near the farm and not that far from Peggy and Steve." He smiled. "I'm waiting for just the perfect moment. But right now I'm waiting for her to feel up to a trek into the forest." He nodded. He kept putting it off, afraid she wouldn't like the little house after living in the Tower for so many months.

"I appreciate that." He nodded, kissing her cheek quickly. "It's a cute little house. And being close to the farm would be easier on her, I think." He nodded. "I still have to set up JARVIS in the house, though. He'll get pissy if I leave him behind."

Tony laughed and shook his head. "It's a hard concept to understand but I think I got it." He smirked. "How about, it's little compared to the places I have lived in my life." He winked at her.
