Jake had made his way into the city, intending to go visit Banshee the Dragon again even though it would make Tommy complain. He kinda liked this place now, even if his mom and dad weren't here and Tommy was too old. The huge amounts of open space didn't freak him out any more, the plants and animals were cool and all the people he'd met and spoken to were really nice as well. He didn't think about the year being wrong or the tech being really really ancient, because he didn't want to - he didn't understand why everyone was being pulled about through time, and he didn't really care either, so he didn't waste time or energy on trying to work it out.
The snow was pretty damn cool too! He wished the rainbow snow had stayed, but he was fine with the snow not being cold. He spent most of his walk into town practicing his aim with snowballs, hitting signposts and streetsigns with ease and more often than not hitting the different parts of the shops that he aimed at. It was a good walk, he reckoned, and then he got to spend time with a dragon that liked him! Even if it was a noisy dragon that kept nudging him over and into snow drifts from time to time.
Eventually, Banshee took off from the top of the old ruined church, probably to get his lunch or something, so Jake went back to working on his aim. He set a whole load of things up on a wall, all different heights and distances away from where he was going to stand to throw the snowballs. When he had enough targets set up, he made plenty of snowballs and started to throw them, picking his targets at random.
Marta was not throwing snowballs. She had arranged with Aaron to meet up at lunchtime so that they could go and eat in her usual quiet place. She found the graveyard to be incredibly relaxing, no matter how many times he told her it was weird or freaky, but he still went there with her so it couldn't have been too bad. She'd been working on plans for their house, sorting out which rooms they would tackle first and all the jobs they'd need to do - and what she'd need to show him how to do - and only then would she let herself start thinking about the mood boards for decorating, but she needed to clear everything with Aaron first. It was to be their house, after all, and not just her house that Aaron stayed in.
She had a folder with everything she needed inside, she had her lunch, and she had Aaron walking beside her as they walked past the old ruined church. A perfect start to her break, really! Turning her head to talk to him, she just missed getting hit by something that whizzed right past her and smacked into Aaron, startling a yelp right out of her.
"SORRY!" was yelled over the wall, followed by the sound of someone running through snow, and then an oddly-familiar little boy appeared in front of them. "Did I hit someone? Sorry!"
