Who: Bruce and Ramses
Where: The park
What: A run in.
When: Saturday morning
Rating: TBD
Open: Maybe to Calleigh and Darcy

He'd been torturing himself over his mistake for the last few days since it happened. It should have been an easy keyhole surgery, if not routine. Bruce couldn't say with any certainty that he'd ever closed a hole in a man's diaphragm before but he'd known the theory inside and out, known what to do and it was relatively simple. Except it wasn't. Nothing simple ever was, he supposed, but even though Bruce had warned Steven about the risks of anaesthesia, it shouldn't have happened. Bruce should have known. He was his own worst enemy when it came to mistakes involving other people's lives. It was part of the reason why he never wanted to be an MD in the first place. At least when he had his accident in nuclear physics, he was the one who got hurt initially. Even that hadn't worked out the way he'd planned. Disaster followed Bruce all around the place and it had followed him onto this island.

If the place was deserted, it might have worked out better for him, albeit a lonely existence. But he wasn't one much to grind on what might have beens or what he should have done for more than The Other Guy let him before the self-hatred got too much and the roaring in his brain intensified at the neglect. The Other Guy did not like Bruce forgetting to give in to the anger just a little, just to feed the monster and that morning after a restless night, Bruce's skin itched to stretch and turn green. He couldn't breathe in the closeted space of his room at the hospital and jogged to the park for fresh air and to get the beast under control.

An hour in, through rounds of meditating and taking his anger out on foliage and running laps, there was a duller growl in the back of his head. Now Bruce was exhausted as he lay on the grass, energy spent while he tried to figure out how to fix Steven before the coma became too deep.

"And why exactly do you not want to eat?" she asked, already headed for the door. "But hell, Tony Stark is not the worst thing I've been compared to so I'll take it." she smirked, waiting at the door for him to follow.

He still smiled widely, shaking his head, "Food is a waste of time. I hate the process of shopping for groceries. It's ridiculously boring and complicated. Not even you could get me to like shopping."

"Food is kind of necessary, and it's not boring if you eat more than poptarts." she rolled her eyes a little. "And yeah, shopping kind of sucks but it's not that bad when no one's taking your money at the end." she reached out and started waving her hand toward herself to try and get him to move. "Now just come or I'm gonna go by myself and make sure every single thing I get needs to be cooked. With an oven, not just the microwave."

His eyes widened in fear at the mention of the dreaded oven. "You wouldn't dare. I can't cook pasta, Darcy. I need my microwave!" he started coming towards her anyway, "Do I have to?" he pouted.

"Oh I would. All dry pasta and raw meat and things that are green." she dared, smirking and crossing her arms under his chest again. "Yes you have to. And you might as well just come now 'cause you're not going to win."

Bruce sighed and kept pouting. He didn't like being told what to do, being the stubborn ass that he was. "Fine. But I am buying pop tarts to have for breakfast. Living without pop tarts isn't living at all." He tried not to smile. She was kind of cute.

She gave him a look for a moment, pursing her lips but eventually she just rolled her eyes and nodded. "Fine, fine. But in that case, you have to at least let me make you something better than that when we get back." she told him, raising an eyebrow in challenge. She didn't know where the sudden urge to take care of him came from, sure she was used to making sure Darcy and Selvig had something to eat on their desks for lunch every day, reminding them to order food when it was dinner time and hat the coffee pot was always full but usually she left it at that. She never went home with either of them for the only reason of feeding them or making sure they're okay.

Bruce arched an eyebrow, wondering why this kid had such a sudden interest in his well being but he was more worried about the state of his hunger and instead just acquiesced. "I'll owe you one, Darcy. I'll get you some..." He thought, realising he had no idea what the girl would like. "Flowers?"

"Flowers? You think I'm the flower type?" Darcy laughed lightly, just shaking her head as she went back to the elevator, poking the button a few times.

He cringed a bit and shrugged. "I have no idea what girls your age like, Darce. Would you prefer a Barbie doll?" Bruce tried not to smirk.
