Raylan stood outside the bar, leaning against a pillar with his hands stuffed in his pockets. His dark hair was combed back and his tan hat was settled comfortably on his head. He had on a pair of dark jeans, secured with a black leather belt, and a gray t-shirt tucked into it. He had a long sleeved red flannel shirt draped over that, unbuttoned and untucked. And even as he leaned back in a position of rest, he gave off the appearance of a man ready to move.
He glanced up at the door to the bar - the pub as he'd heard some call it, but that was just a fancy way of calling it a bar in his mind - and looked out at the street again. It occurred to him, and not for the first time, that he hadn't any idea what the woman he was meeting looked like.
A spaceship. For all he knew, she looked like that blue alien woman from that Bruce Willis movie. Raylan liked that movie - the man played a cop or a military officer or something in outer space and in the end saved the world, got the girl, and the happy ending. He was a simple man and enjoyed a simple movie. The Marshall forced himself to bring his thoughts back to the woman he was meeting. With a name like Amanda he was relatively sure she'd at least be human.
Although there was that Caroline woman...she wasn't human. Heaven help him but he needed a drink.
