Who: Bryn and Marc and Steven (and Khonshu)
Where: Marc and Steven's place
What: Explaining things because Khonshu says so
When: Just after this
TW: Marc talking about his past again :/
Open: No
Marc was, yet again, pacing. This time, though, it wasn't him that was going anywhere. No, Bryn was on her way because Khonshu liked her (understandable, he was getting on pretty well with her so far) and wanted Marc to explain about him and Steven. Wanted this enough that he was more than willing to override Marc's more than obvious reluctance to talk about anything that related to him and Steven. And what Khonshu, god of the Moon, protector of those who travel at night, Greatest god of the greatest gods, he who lives on hearts, wanted, he tended to get.
So Marc was pacing, in the middle of his and Steven's living room/library/book dumping ground. Granted, it was much bigger than it should have been, thanks to Maximoff's spellwork, and it had an excellent view of Space (which made something in Marc's head go back to actual decent childhood memories of when he'd wanted to be an astronaut - Steven had latched onto Ancient Egypt, but Marc had loved Space) and he'd managed to get Steven to tidy away a lot of the books by now with only the desk being cluttered and covered in books and notes made in Steven's tiny neat handwriting, so the pacing wasn't in too tight a space and it wasn't boring half the time, and he wasn't in danger of kicking over a pile of books that came up to his waist, but still. He didn't like pacing. He didn't like being so anxious again. He didn't like being forced to do things by Khonshu, who didn't seem to understand all the shit going on in Marc's head.
He'd made a pot of coffee and a pot of tea, because he wanted coffee, Steven wanted tea and he wasn't sure which one Bryn would go for, but a pot meant there was plenty for everyone. And Khonshu didn't drink, so he didn't get a mug of anything.
"If we're waiting, can I at least have the body until Bryn arrives? I want to finish making notes on that last chapter I read," Steven asked from the window, where he was also pacing but holding a book and wearing his reading glasses.
"I dunno when she'll get here."
"That's okay, I just think it would be better for the body if I'm being calm and sitting down for a little bit, instead of you wearing a hole in the floor."
And then the door knocked, and Marc froze. Steven took advantage of his pause and slipped into the body with a great deal more ease than when he'd first learned about these things, took a deep calming breath, and went to answer the door.
"Hello, come in, please," he said with a smile, "I'm Steven. It's lovely to meet you, Bryn, and I have to say thanks yet again for being so generous and thoughtful. I can't wait to go to the museum!"
