It had been a very normal evening. Ashley had been working late, but Jane had appeared with dinner, and then Robert had appeared even though he was meant to be away through the latest door with some friends. He'd claimed that Amsterdam was 'boring', but Jane had given her father a knowing look. Robert had secretly missed them, but he wasn't about to admit to it. He was a boy who liked to act like he was very worldly and independent, but Darcy knew that he was more of a family man than he let on.

They'd ate, Robert had regaled them with the more palatable stories of his vacation, and they'd had a rather heated game of scrabble that had involved calling Aunt Georgiana to make sure their father wasn't "making up regency words again".

Eventually they'd retired for the evening, and Darcy had read a couple of chapters of a novel before he fell asleep. At some point in the night, he rolled over and felt the warmth of his wife next to him. She'd obviously finished her shift and just slipped quietly into bed. Instinctively, he curled up against her, wrapping an arm around her waist and just letting her curls tickle at his nose.

	She broke the kiss and moved to start kissing and sucking his neck. All she knew right then was that she needed him and he was there. 	When she turned her attention to his neck, Darcy gave a little gasp of surprise. Her lips were sending shivers of pleasure through him, and he held onto her a bit tighter, feeling her warm body against him through the thin material of her nightgown. Darcy pulled back just enough to let her get her nightgown off. The speed of it surprised him a little. There really was no hesitation in her, and it really put his mind at ease that it truly was exactly what she wanted. God, how had he managed to find someone who loved him so much that she didn't even care if he'd suddenly aged thirty years?

He held her naked body right up against him, kissing her fervently in return until he was breathless and almost dizzy from it.

	It hadn't been her original intent. When she asked him to hold her, that was all she meant. But with his arms around her and talking about their future together. He even smelled the same which drove her crazy. It was just enough to push her into a physical need for him. She slid her hands under his shirt and up his chest, moaning into the kiss. Darcy kissed her with all he had, eventually pulling back just to catch his breath for a moment. He sat up slightly just for a moment, and pulled his shirt off for her as quickly as she had her nightdress.

But he really just had to look at her. He wouldn't have been human if he hadn't wanted to get an eyeful of his 25 year-old wife once again. So, he didn't hide that he was looking at her like she was an absolute goddess for a second.

	Ashley moved her hands when he pulled off his shirt but they were soon right back on his chest. There was a little more to him than before but he still looked good. She leaned back, and he really did take the opportunity to look at her properly. She hadn't changed too much over the years, but really the most noticeable thing was that she didn't have her scar. He reached out and ran his fingers across the smooth skin where it was meant to be, feeling a strange mixture of feelings. There was a tiny bit of guilt, knowing that he would put her through that eventually. But he also felt a great deal of pride when he looked at that scar - knowing how strong she was, what she was capable of.

He realised that he was probably being a little odd. "You're beautiful," he told her. "I mean, you still are, don't worry. You age very well indeed," he assured her, with a bit of a chuckle.

	Ashley just let him look at her for a minute before putting her hand over his. "That's very good to know." There was something in his eyes that she couldn't quite figure out but she didn't ask. "Thank you," he whispered, nearly pointing out that she has already told him so. He didn't want to make fun, especially when he now had a handful of breast. That was definitely a good distraction, the perfect way to get him out of his own head. He gave a gentle squeeze, and his thumb ran over her pert nipple. He leaned down to kiss the opposite breast, his tongue running over her nipple before teeth grazed very lightly at the sensitive skin.

There really was a sense of pride in it when he managed to get her scream and curse like that. He could feel her thighs trembling with the pleasure of it, and he stayed close to let her ride it out against his mouth. once he felt her muscles relax, he let her legs gently drop down again, and he quickly wiped at his chin with the back of his hand before he looked up at her. Damn, she looked good like that.
